Gears of War Remake Hits PS5: Full Details

Microsoft recently unveiled Gears of War: Reloaded, which is essentially a revamped version of the series’ initial release, and for the first time in the franchise’s history, this Gears game will be playable on PlayStation consoles.

Since its launch on the Xbox 360 by Microsoft, there’s been an intense longing among PlayStation fans for the chance to experience the thrilling world of Gears of War on their console.

For more than a decade now, it has been exclusively available on Xbox, but with the debut of Gears of War 4, it also became playable on PC.

Now, PlayStation fans can be excited as Microsoft has announced a remake of the original title… and it’s coming to the PS5.

Gears of War: Reloaded announced for PlayStation 5

On the 26th of August, 2025, Gears of War: Reloaded will hit the shelves at a price point of $39.99. This version has been optimized to run smoothly on a wider variety of platforms than any previous iteration.

The game is set to debut on various platforms including Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PC, Xbox Cloud Gaming, PlayStation 5, and Steam at its launch. Given that it’s a first-party production, the game will be accessible through Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass on the very same day of release.

If you previously had Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, Xbox will provide you with the upgraded version, Gears of War: Reloaded, at no additional cost, following the announcement on May 5th.
