The “Garden of Witch” event and update 2.3 are set to arrive in Hunt Showdown on March 26th. With numerous changes being introduced, I’m feeling quite optimistic that this won’t turn out like the debacle from August. Here are some of the exciting new features:
1. New Boss: The enigmatic Garden of Witch will feature a new boss for players to confront.
2. New Map: A fresh, sprawling map called “The Bayou” will be introduced, offering new areas to explore and hunt in.
3. New Items: Players can expect the addition of various new items, including traps, tools, and unique hunter outfits.
4. Balance Adjustments: The game’s mechanics will undergo several adjustments to ensure a more balanced and fair playing experience for all players.
5. Quality of Life Improvements: Numerous quality-of-life improvements have been made to enhance the overall gaming experience, such as improved matchmaking, smoother animations, and better visual effects.
6. Limited-Time Challenges: To celebrate the arrival of the Garden of Witch event, players will be able to participate in limited-time challenges for exclusive rewards.
7. Community Feedback: Developers have taken player feedback into account when designing these changes, aiming to create an even better gaming experience for everyone.
Garden of Witch coming to Hunt Showdown
The Witch’s Garden will present fresh material and numerous adjustments to the balance. Rest assured, there will also be a reuse of previous components. So, what can one anticipate? To start, Pledge Marks are making a comeback. You can earn them by participating in unique game activities. Later, you’ll have the opportunity to utilize them at Rare Supply Points for various rewards such as seasonal advantages. In this event, you will be able to purchase three traits:
- Blademancer – You can use Dark Sight to quickly retrieve launched projectiles (however now it doesn’t deal damage to living creatures);
- Corpse Seer – You will receive a Dark Sight Boost when looting Hunters (even when you don’t have a Bounty Token);
- Gunrunner – Allows you to equip two large guns at the same time.
Since we’ve already enjoyed the bonuses, Poltergeist and Blast Sense will revert to their normal abilities. Additionally, the Garden of Witch update will introduce fresh skins and variant options for weapons such as Carabine Silencer, Mosin Obraz Match, and Mosin Obrez Sharpeye.
In this upcoming patch 2.3, we’ll discuss balance adjustments. One significant issue I notice is a nerf to Silencers. After the update, the damage output from all weapons equipped with this attachment will be reduced by 10%. While I understand the reasoning behind this, it seems excessive to weaken other weapons as well. This change could prove particularly challenging for Sparks players, as the silenced version of their weapon currently deals the highest damage – 149 points.
With Patch 2,3, slaying bosses becomes less agonizing as using a duster or knife against these powerful adversaries will now deal more damage. Furthermore, there’ll be more World Melee Weapons appearing in their lairs, reducing the need to carry an axe or hammer across vast stretches of the map.
For approximately two years, I’ve been engaging with the game “Hunt: Showdown”. Over this period, I’ve observed certain weapons losing their luster. Interestingly, in the forthcoming event, two of these underperforming guns are expected to be given an upgrade or boost.
- One of the biggest downfalls is definitely Uppercut. This long ammo single-action revolver was a great option for people who took shotguns or Bomb Lance as primary weapons. However, Crytek nerfed its damage to 123 and added bullet drop in patch 2.0. With a price tag of over 400 Hunt Dollars, this weapon is simply too high. After the patch 2.3, Uppercut will cost 310 Hunt Dollars, so it will be a much better investment.
- Martini Henry is another forgotten weapon. Right now, it’s barely used by players, because there are many better alternatives for this gun. The upcoming patch, however, will introduce Fast Fingers for this weapon.
The patch isn’t just about what it will add; Crytek has also chosen to modify aspects like traps, recruitment rules, and gunplay. Unfortunately, there’s no word yet on when DeSalle might return. For more details on Garden of Witch, including minor updates, check out the official post on Steam.
