I’m really excited about GameStop’s new “Trade Anything Day”! They’re letting people bring in stuff to trade, which is awesome. Although, it’s not completely anything – they’ve said no dead animals or illegal stuff, which, honestly, makes sense. Still, it’s a cool idea!
The rules for the trade event on December 6th say that items must fit inside a box measuring 20x20x20 inches, and GameStop employees have the final say on whether or not an item is accepted for trade.
GameStop won’t allow certain items to be brought in, including hazardous waste, weapons, live or dead animals (stuffed animals are permitted), alcohol, tobacco, drugs, sexually explicit materials, or anything that looks like body parts. You can find a complete list of prohibited items on GameStop’s website.
GameStop hasn’t said exactly how it will value some of the unusual trade-in items people might bring. However, it’s important to remember that this is primarily a marketing event designed to get customers into GameStop stores and boost sales and brand recognition.
Good news for Xbox Game Pass fans: GameStop won’t be increasing prices on subscriptions, meaning you can still get a month of Game Pass Ultimate for $20. GameStop has confirmed they don’t plan to raise prices anytime soon.
