Game Pass Hit High On Life Getting A TV Show With One Of Its Hilarious Voice Actors

As a seasoned gamer with decades of pixel-pushing under my belt, I must admit that the news of High on Life, the riotous Rick and Morty spin-off game, being adapted into an animated TV series has me more than a little high on anticipation.

The hit video game “High on Life,” developed by Rick & Morty creator Justin Roiland’s studio Squanch Games, is being adapted into an animated television show. According to Deadline, Emmy-winning actor JB Smoove (known for Curb Your Enthusiasm) will produce the series through his Alternate Side Productions company.

As an enthusiastic admirer, I can’t help but share my excitement about the return of smooth-voiced Gus from my favorite video game. According to recent reports, there’s a strong possibility he’ll lend his talented voice yet again to this cherished role for the upcoming TV series. Fingers crossed!

In addition, renowned actors like Susan Sarandon, Andy Daly, Tim Robinson, Tom Kenny, Thomas Middleditch, Jack Black, and Jennifer Hale lent their voices to this game as well.

Smoove announced in a statement, “They asked me to play games together, and now I’m assisting them in transitioning into television. It’s like one game acknowledging another! High on Life is eccentric, absurd, and captivating, and the show will be even more so! Get ready to laugh as you journey through space with some extraordinary characters such as myself! We’re all set and eager to start!”

Released on Xbox and PC in December 2022, “High on Life” debuted on Game Pass simultaneously. This title proved to be a massive hit on the service, holding the crown as its top release of 2022 and the biggest third-party launch ever until Palworld surpassed it in 2024. However, the game has since been taken off the Game Pass library.

After allegations of domestic abuse, Justin Roiland parted ways with Squanch Games; however, these accusations were eventually dropped. In July 2023, High on Life made its debut on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, while the expansion pack, High on Knife, was released in October 2023.
