The upcoming auction by Heritage Auctions, offering over 2,000 items from Game of Thrones, has sent my heart racing like a Lannister at the sight of gold.
The hit TV show Game of Thrones by HBO was an unstoppable cultural sensation, earning 59 Primetime Emmy awards, inspiring a plethora of merchandise, and even influencing the naming trends among children with “Khaleesi” being a popular choice. For years, replicas of weapons and armor from the series have been available for purchase, but now it’s time for devoted fans to acquire their very own piece of Westeros.
Over 2,000 items such as the “shame” bell, Jamie Lannister’s Oathkeeper sword, multiple helmets, cloaks, and other props are being offered in 900 separate lots for bidding at Heritage Auctions. This series of auctions will continue until mid-October.
As a gamer, if you’re less about the gear and more into the lore, you might be interested to know that dragon eggs from our game’s Season 1 are going for $3,600 right now! They’d make an impressive addition to any mantle or fireplace (just remember not to heat them too much). The towering 13-piece set was designed by Michele Clapton. Clapton explained that his armor design was meant to reflect his brutal and intimidating presence. “We wanted his armor to be functional yet terrifying, showing his dominance and strength,” she stated in the item’s description.
In a larger scale than before, the iron throne prop from the series finale stands impressively tall. Measuring nearly 10 feet, this remarkable artwork requires specific shipping considerations and extra costs are applicable. At present, it retails for five thousand dollars.
