Game Informer is back. It’s set to be “bigger and better” thanks to money made from NFT and blockchain technologies

Last August, the gaming industry was startled by the news that Game Informer magazine, long considered the most prominent print resource for games, would be discontinued. Shortly following this announcement, all past content was removed from their official site, implying the closure of its 33-year run. Therefore, we were delighted to hear about the resurgence of Game Informer.

  1. It’s not merely about new people taking advantage of a famous brand. The creators of its earlier version are responsible for the magazine’s comeback. All employees who were in the editorial office when Game Informer was closed will return. They will also receive salary increases and overdue promotions.
  2. The return of the magazine was made possible thanks to Gunzilla Games, which bought all the rights to Game Informer.
  3. The magazine’s new owner is a studio specializing in developing games using blockchain technology. Nevertheless, the Game Informer editorial team will work as an independent legal entity and have complete autonomy in writing content and choosing topics.

The upcoming issue of Game Informer will be available in both print and digital versions. As of now, there’s no definitive date for when the first issue will hit the shelves. However, the team has shared that the new edition promises to be larger and improved compared to its predecessors.

The official site has come back to life, and all prior content that was removed is now available again. Furthermore, the team has recently posted 29 new game reviews, which were published since the magazine shut down in August of last year. A piece showcasing top games from 2024 has also been added.
