G2 Jawgemo Addresses Recent VCT Roster Changes & Team Synergy Issues

The 2025 VCT season is off and running, but several teams have experienced unexpected roster adjustments following just a handful of opening games. In the majority of instances, this alteration has been linked to problems with team chemistry and communication.

Instead of continuing their quest to define their fundamental character, Jawgemo, a top-tier North American duelist, took an unexpected step during the offseason by departing from Evil Geniuses and linking up with G2 Esports—an Ascension team. This move was made despite receiving several offers from regional partnered teams. One of his key reasons for this choice was a stronger compatibility with G2’s players.

As a gamer, I quizzed Jawgemo on his take regarding the synergy problems that seem to destabilize other teams’ rosters, whereas G2 remains unstoppable due to their exceptional teamwork.

In Jawgemo’s words at the Masters Bangkok pre-event press conference, he emphasized that establishing trust with your teammates right from the beginning is crucial. He believes in having faith in the group you’re joining, and that’s why he opted for G2. What attracted him was the established core and the chance to learn from them daily, observing their preparation, execution, and performance strategies during matches. This is what he sought.

In the context of rebuilding teams, it’s essential to have faith in the strategy laid out by coaches and staff. Often, the efforts of management and behind-the-scenes workers are overlooked; they play a significant role in keeping operations running efficiently. If you lack trust in your coach or leader, success becomes elusive. This is why we witness teams struggling during the season, as it happens now. For teams to thrive, they must understand their purpose and work towards realizing their full potential.

Inquired from @jawgemo regarding the anticipated roster adjustments in VCT post-Kickoff, as well as the challenges teams are encountering with synergy. Here’s his perspective on fostering a more robust bond among teammates for the #VALORANTMasters tournament:

2025’s Americas Kickoff was won by team G2, marking them as the inaugural Ascension squad to claim a VCT trophy. This victory also ensured their top spot at Masters Bangkok as the region’s leading seed. On February 21, they will go head-to-head with Trace Esports, and the live stream of this highly anticipated match can be found on Valorant Champions Tour’s official YouTube and Twitch channels.
