As a seasoned gamer with decades of Counter-Strike under my belt, let me tell you, watching G2 Esports dominate Group C at the BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2024 was a sight to behold! The addition of Guatemalan rifler Mario “malbsMd” Samayoam alongside Polish veteran Snax has proven to be a winning combination.
In the BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2024, Group C saw an impressive performance from G2 Esports. They overpowered NIP and later reverse-swept FaZe Clan, advancing to the group’s final match. However, NIP staged a comeback, stunning FaZe Clan and eliminating one of the tournament favorites in the lower bracket.
In the latest Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) competitions, it’s evident that the combination of Guatemalan player Mario “malbsMd” Samayoam and Polish veteran Janusz “Snax” Pogorzelski worked well for G2 Esports.
To start things off, G2 Esports made a powerful debut on NiP’s chosen map, Ancient. Despite this map typically favoring the attacking team, G2 managed to build an advantage of 8-4 in the first half while playing on the defending side. This significant lead put NiP in a difficult position, particularly considering Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov’s exceptional performance as demonstrated in the video below, where he pulled off a remarkable 2v1 AWP clutch.
G2 finished Ancient with a strong T side to win the map 13-7.
On the Inferno map selection by G2, there were indications that NIP was active. Remarkably, NIP fought their way to a 6-6 tie in the first half on the CT side despite being behind initially. This was achieved through a series of impressive team plays, with AWPer Artem “r1nkle” Moroz contributing three crucial kills in the 10th round alone, and two well-timed no-scopes that provided NIP with some momentum.
As a dedicated fan, I must admit that despite NIP’s valiant attempts, G2 Esports asserted their dominance on the CT side of Inferno with an impressive show of strength, ultimately securing a resounding 13-8 victory. This win propels G2 to a commanding 2-0 lead in the series, setting them up for a clean sweep that leaves me awestruck!
In this upcoming best-of-three Play-In clash, NIP squares off against Astralis. The victor advances to the BLAST Fall Final 2024, whereas the vanquished will participate in the Showdown event. Notably, NIP has a strong chance of success as they recently knocked out FaZe Clan with an unexpected 2-0 win.
