G-Mode has revealed plans to introduce “Glory of Heracles III” for PC through Steam as part of their G-Mode Archive series on March 28th. Previously, this version was accessible on Nintendo Switch since October 2020; however, this will be the first time a game from the niche JRPG series becomes available on the widely used PC gaming platform.
Heracles Glory III, or “The Silence of the Gods” as it’s called in Japan, was initially launched by Data East on the Super Famicom (SNES) back in 1992. Later, G-Mode adapted the game for Japanese mobile phones in 2008. This adaptation forms the foundation for this subsequent version as well.
The game title might not be well-known outside Japan because it wasn’t officially released in English. In fact, out of the entire series, only one game – Tamashii no Shoumei (The Proof of Soul), released for Nintendo DS in Japan in 2008 and initially intended to be named Glory of Heracles V – received an official English release in 2010, with its title translated as Glory of Heracles. This is similar to the first localized and seventh overall Fire Emblem entry: The Blazing Blade. However, it’s worth noting that only the third game had a port for feature phones developed by G-Mode, making this possibly the only instance where a title in the series is currently accessible on modern platforms.
It’s worth mentioning that Kazushige Nojima, who currently gains recognition for scripting the tales in the Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts franchises, was previously involved with writing scenarios for several Glory of Heracles games as well. This third installment in the series is one of those he contributed to.
Here, you’ll discover the screenshots along with an English explanation for the currently Japan-only release of Glory of Heracles III, which is located just beneath.
Experience a soulful role-playing game, skillfully crafted by divine and mortal hands – the enthralling narrative of this series comes alive once more in the G-MODE Archives!
Inspired by Greek mythology, “Glory of Heracles” is a legendary RPG series.
Ever since the debut of Tōjin Makyō-den: Heracles no Eikō back in 1987, this cherished role-playing game franchise has shared numerous tales on various gaming platforms.
Among the series, this title is especially renowned for having the best storyline of them all.
【Game System】
This game features a command-based RPG system.
With each ticking moment, the game’s world seamlessly transitions from day to night, subtly altering the people I interact with and the stores at my disposal.
Players will encounter challenging adversaries using seven unique weapon varieties and magical abilities gained from temples.
As a gamer, when I’m up against less challenging foes, I love utilizing the Auto-Battle Mode. It lets my characters duke it out without me having to manually attack, streamlining the process and making the fights much smoother and more efficient.
【Story】
The setting is Ancient Greece.
For centuries, peace has reigned.
In my perspective, feelings such as pain and sadness have largely dissipated, deeply entombed within the recollections of generations gone by.
Up in the sky, the divine beings who tended to this peaceful Eden felt immense joy as they watched their crafted realm thrive.
However, even in such an era, there was one god who never took his eyes off the human realm.
That god was Zeus, the supreme ruler of Olympus and the great creator of all things.
With his ever-watchful gaze, Zeus observed the world below, missing no detail—no matter how small.
And soon, he began to notice something.
A subtle yet undeniable shift in the peaceful paradise…
