Frosthaven launches in Early Access on July 31

Game publishers Arc Games and Snapshot Games have revealed that the “dark fantasy tactical RPG” titled Frosthaven is set to debut in Early Access on July 31, exclusively on PC platforms like Steam and Epic. The game will retail for $39.99 upon release.

The preliminary version of Frosthaven is rumored to feature approximately a third of the content intended for its 1.0 release, encompassing both single-player and online cooperative multiplayer options, as well as eight distinct characters. It’s anticipated that this early access phase will last around a year.

Today, Arc Games in collaboration with Asmodee and Cephalofair Games unveiled a trailer for their upcoming project – Frosthaven, a tactical RPG set in the realm of dark fantasy, which is based on the critically acclaimed board game. This digital adaptation will be available on Steam and Epic Games Store on July 31, 2025, priced at $39.99. To provide players with an immersive strategic board game experience, Arc Games has teamed up with Twins Sails, the publishers of Gloomhaven Digital, offering a bundle that includes both Frosthaven and Gloomhaven Digital. This bundle will be accessible from July 31, coinciding with the launch of Frosthaven’s Early Access.

From Snapshot Games, led by CEO Julian Gollop, famed for creating X-COM, and Isaac Childres from Cephalofair Games serving as a consultant, are excited to introduce Frosthaven into Early Access in two weeks. This Early Access launch will initiate the journey of Frosthaven, allowing players to witness the progression of this board game adaptation into a video game. Their feedback throughout Early Access will play a crucial role in shaping and evolving the game as it develops.

As an enthusiastic supporter, I’m excited to share that by joining this journey from the Early Access phase, you’ll have the chance to immerse yourself in around a third of the complete content envisioned for the 1.0 version of the game. Exciting additions and refinements are planned for regular updates, roughly every three months. At the launch of Early Access, you’ll get access to:

* Eight distinctive characters, including six starting characters and two that can be unlocked,
* Over 40 tactical quests, including comprehensive tutorial missions,
* More than 100 choice-driven events,
* The opportunity to construct your own Outpost by building structures and completing tasks that will gradually unveil new game features.
