On June 26th, it’s official! Front Mission 3: Remake, jointly announced by Forever Entertainment and Megapixel Studio, is coming to Nintendo Switch, with a retail price of $34.99 or €34.99.
The third remastered version of the tactical RPG series “Front Mission 3: Remake” is being handled by a Polish studio, following the re-releases of its predecessors – “Front Mission 1st: Remake” and “Front Mission 2: Remake.” These earlier remakes initially debuted on Nintendo Switch, with a multiplatform+PC release following approximately a year later. As of now, no further platforms for “Front Mission 3: Remake” have been announced; however, it’s reasonable to expect a multiplatform announcement at some point in the future.
Originally released in 2023, Front Mission 2: Remake faced heavy criticism for its initial English translation upon release, even receiving a negative review from us. However, a recent update to the game promises a ‘Thoroughly revamped English localization’. Meanwhile, Front Mission 3 was the first game in the series to receive an English localization on PlayStation 1, so we’re eager to see how its Remake handles its English dialogue.

Story
In the future, Front Mission 3: Remake is a strategic role-playing game where nations and corporations battle for supremacy in a world dominated by massive robots called Wanzers. The player follows Kazuki Takemura, whose early decision sets two distinct storylines. Both plotlines revolve around a worldwide scheme involving hidden weapons, corporate manipulations, and nationalistic schemes.
The game starts off by finding Kazuki and his buddy Ryogo accidentally drawn into a military struggle during a regular delivery to a military facility. Based on the player’s decision, Kazuki teams up with his sister Alisa or Emma Klamsky, an operative probing the clandestine M.I.D.A.S. weapon project.
In both scenarios, the ideas of loyalty, kinship, and the moral implications of technology are delved into as Kazuki and his group strive to reveal the facts and avert disastrous outcomes.
