From Season 3 Episode 9 recap: Blood rites, ghosts & a burgeoning birth

As a seasoned viewer of supernatural dramas, I must say that From Season 3 has certainly delivered an eerie and intriguing episode this week. The plot twists, the suspense, and the chilling atmosphere are reminiscent of my favorite Blair Witch Project, which still gives me goosebumps to this day.

In Episode 9 of Season 3, entitled ‘Revelations: Chapter One’, a great deal unfolds as the chilling storyline reaches its conclusion.

So far in Fromville, things have taken an unusual turn: A novice police officer tragically shot Nicky, Jade has been tormented by strange hallucinations, Victor is on a quest for a ventriloquist’s dummy, and Fatima is preparing to deliver what some might call Fromville’s version of the antichrist.

Moreover, that’s just scratching the surface. In Season 3 Episode 8, things took a chilling turn as Elgin succumbed to the demands of the ghost dressed in kimono. Guided by the spooky Polaroid camera, he abducted Fatima and imprisoned her in a dank cellar. He was convinced that her unborn child held the secret to their liberation.

Breaking News: It’s definitely not what it seems. The mysterious force behind this troubled town appears to be relentlessly testing Boyd, and it’s proving to be quite effective. However, a fresh strategy emerges in the ninth episode of Season 3 – here are the top five pivotal scenes you don’t want to miss! (Be aware: spoilers lie ahead!)

Fatima’s still trapped in From Season 3 Episode 9

Fatima remains imprisoned within the dank cellar, enduring both physical and emotional distress. Elgin enters, bearing some of her personal items, assuring her that all his actions are aimed at shielding her. “I’m attempting to keep you safe.

It appears plausible that the ghost in a kimono might be an aspect of the malevolent force, yet when Fatima attempts to clarify this point, Elgin remains unconvinced. Instead, he firmly holds onto the belief that her child could serve as the means for their escape from there.

During their conversation, she begins to feel the old pangs returning, and Elgin becomes persistent about her consuming something. In case you recall from Episode 8, this was when he self-extracted his blood. It turns out, he had saved it for the baby. Reluctantly, she downs a cup filled with the red liquid, reminiscent of gulping down a cold Dr. Pepper under duress.

During her pregnancy, it appears that Fatima’s blood is flowing rapidly. Upon our next encounter with her, her belly is noticeably prominent, suggesting she is about to go into labor. After Elgin departs, Fatima discovers a hidden door concealed under the floor’s mud layer.

The door is firmly locked, making it impossible for her to open it, which intensifies the discomfort she’s feeling, similar to labor pains. And if the idea of delivering a monstrous baby in a solitary dungeon wasn’t already dreadful, a ghost wearing a kimono appears, muffling Fatima’s cries and forcing her onto the bed.

Boyd’s health declines

At the beginning of Episode 9 from Season 3, Boyd’s situation appears to be worsening. Accompanied by Ellis, he searches for Fatima in the forest, and his hand suddenly becomes tremulous. In case there was any confusion, it should be noted that Boyd developed symptoms similar to Parkinson’s disease, just like his father did, during Season 1.

He kept this a secret from almost everyone, and it’s one of the reasons he went out into the forest with Sara Myers (Avery Konrad). After contracting the worms from Martin in the dungeon, the symptoms went away.

After giving the worms to Smiley Creature, he subsequently came back. It’s unclear if Boyd genuinely has the disease or if this is simply a strategy by the town to undermine him.

Since I shattered that music box and swore I’d never break again, I’ve been haunted from all sides, with Season 3 marking the beginning of this torment as the monsters abducted me, forcing me to witness their brutal murder of Tian-Chen.

Currently, it seems his health is deteriorating. Yet, he seems to dismiss Ellis’ worries, but eventually falters and falls. They return to the Sheriff’s office, and only then does Boyd reveal his state of health to his son.

With Boyd revealing details about Tian-Chen to Ellis and expressing doubts that Fatima’s child might be a part of the entity’s vengeful scheme, this sets off a wave of disclosures. Ellis denies any blame, but it’s evident that Boyd is grappling with these revelations.

The search party begins

In this case, it’s Boyd we’re discussing – the top-tier hero as From puts it – and he has a strategy in mind. Later on, Sara gets a strange communication about Fatima, which she passes on to Boyd and his group.

She tells you that they’re indicating she’s near, but scared. Their laughter hints that they understand we won’t reach her before she’s in trouble. In essence, it’s as if she’s saying, ‘They want you to realize there’s no chance of saving her.’

This awakens something in Boyd, who calls an impromptu town meeting. Together with Donna, they organize a search party for Fatima. “What we’re asking for is people to scour the town, every corner, every crack, so we can bring her home,” says Donna.

In the current gathering, each pair consists of two individuals. This includes members of the Matthews family. Tabitha and Julie move off together, as do Ethan and Jim, each group choosing a different path. There’s a glimmer of optimism in the air, yet there’s a significant concern: Elgin is the partner accompanying Ellis on his search party.

Rest assured, he’s not abducting Ellis as well. Instead, he delivers a talk to Ellis, expressing his belief that all will be well between him and Fatima. However, this speech seems to heighten Ellis’ suspicions.

The Boy in White is now the Teen in White

Previously, Victor uncovered a surprising truth: It wasn’t Jasper the ventriloquist dummy talking to Christopher; it was the mysterious Boy in White all along. Moreover, when Christopher refused to go near the tree, Victor informed his mother Miranda about this, and she went herself, resulting in her tragic demise.

Victor finds it difficult to deal with the memory of his mother’s incident, as he carries a sense of guilt about her situation. Despite others trying to reassure him and make him understand that he isn’t at fault, he stubbornly refuses to listen.

He makes his way to Colony House, takes the axe, and marches towards the bottle tree. However, just as he’s about to strike, a Teenager in White appears and warns him to halt. But this figure isn’t merely a boy; he’s grown into a teenager now.

Victor notices a change in your appearance and asks, “You seem different now compared to before, what’s causing this transformation?” To which the boy responds, “A lot of things are changing for me.

The conversation between them shifts in an intriguing manner as Victor queries about aiding the town further. “Why won’t you lend a hand?” he enquires, and the boy replies that he attempted with Christopher, implying that they should discover for themselves. He believes this is the key to truly comprehending the situation.

Observe that he employs a familiar expression similar to the one he used when pushing Tabitha from the lighthouse, which reads, “It’s the only way.” Essentially, this implies that they must unravel the enigmas surrounding Fromville on their own. Unfortunately, at this juncture, it offers Victor little assistance.

When the Boy in White begs for aid, he instead advises me, “Leave that tree standing,” and then departs nonchalantly.

From Season 3 goes Blair Witch

The conclusion of Episode 9 from Season 3 is downright unsettling. So far, Tabitha has been feeling peculiar occurrences that hint at a sense of déjà vu, yet the show never reveals what she’s witnessing. It appears that she’s just as clueless about it herself.

As Tabitha and Julie venture out together searching for Fatima, they encounter one of the local children resembling an “anghkooey”. The spectral girl guides Tabitha and Julie towards the cellar where Fatima is hidden. Upon entering, Tabitha encounters Victor, who stands with his back turned, reminiscent of a Blair Witch scene.

Victor points out the spot, sharing that it was where his mother had passed away. He expresses his frustration, stating he believed he had a purpose while she lived. He feels responsible for her death because he was there at the time. Tabitha tries to comfort him, explaining, “Victor, you weren’t to blame. You were merely a child.

However, as she embraces him, a sense of eerie familiarity returns, more potent than before. This instance, we witness through her eyes the events preceding Miranda’s demise. Subsequently, she experiences a vision of Miranda’s death, where it is revealed that Miranda was brutally killed by the Smiley Creature in the woods.

This incident prompted Tabitha to flee from the cellar, weeping, with Victor and Julie in pursuit. Regrettably, this sequence of events unfolded prior to them opening Fatima’s cell, thus leaving us on a cliffhanger until the finale to discover if she can be rescued.
