The beloved anime series, Frieren, has made its way onto Blu-ray with the first half already available. In the coming months, the second half of “Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End” will be released. You can preorder the $70 Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Part 2, which launches on September 23rd, and for those wanting an exclusive experience, a Limited Edition priced at $220 is available for preorder on October 21st. This edition comes packed with collectibles and additional content.
Beyond Journey’s End” is a highly praised anime adaptation of the manga co-created by Kanehito Yamada and Tsukasa Abe. This captivating fantasy series centers around Frieren, the elf magician in the title, who embarks on a lengthy voyage to locate the resting place of souls. Her goal is to be reunited with her old comrade Himmel, who led the group that vanquished the Demon King many decades ago. As an elf, Frieren has an unusually long lifespan, and she perceives time differently from her human counterparts. The series garnered accolades from viewers and critics alike for its well-developed characters, striking visuals, and meticulously built fantasy universe.
The upcoming Blu-ray releases will cover what has happened in the anime thus far, but it’s important to note that they don’t tell the whole story. The second season of the show is set to premiere in January 2026. If you can’t bear the wait, you can fill the gap by reading the original Frieren manga. The English translations for volumes 1-13 are already out and available now, while you can pre-order Volume 14 on Amazon.
