‘Friday the 13th’ Prequel Series ‘Crystal Lake’ Casts William Catlett

The upcoming “Friday the 13th” prequel series titled “Crystal Lake,” produced by Peacock, has recently welcomed actor William Catlett as part of its cast.

In this upcoming series, Catlett will be joining the cast alongside Linda Cardellini, who is set to portray Pamela Voorhees. Catlett’s character will be Levon Brooks, although specific details about his role are still confidential. The storyline revolves around Pamela’s life before the events depicted in the first “Friday the 13th” movie. The show secured a direct-to-series order on Peacock back in 2022.

Lately, Catlett has been featured in several episodes of Mara Brock Akil’s Netflix show titled “Forever,” a series adapted from Judy Blume’s book. Previously, he collaborated with Akil on the CW’s superhero series “Black Lightning.” His other TV roles include appearances in “Constellation” and “The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey,” both on Apple TV+, as well as “Lovecraft Country” on HBO. He has also acted in films such as “A Thousand and One” and “Never Let Go.

Catlett is repped by IAG, Anonymous Content, Granderson Des Rochers.

In August 2024, Brad Caleb Kane assumed multiple roles, including creator, writer, showrunner, and executive producer, for “Crystal Lake”. Alongside him in these executive producing roles are Victor Miller, Marc Toberoff, Robert M. Barsamian, Robert P. Barsamian, and Stuart Manashil. A24, serving as the studio, is also involved as an executive producer on this project.

The first “Friday the 13th” movie was launched back in 1980. Surprisingly, it earned approximately $60 million while its production cost was only $550,000. Since that time, a total of eleven more films have been added to the series, featuring titles like “Jason X,” “Freddy vs. Jason,” and the 2009 re-imagining. Notably, it was in the second film where Jason Voorhees took on the role of the primary villain.
