Freja is the Best Overwatch 2 Hero for One Big Reason

As a gamer, I’ve been diving into the temporary playtest of Freja in Overwatch 2, and let me tell you, the community response has been fantastic! Her kit design and gameplay loop are surprisingly on point, making her a standout addition to the roster since the original Overwatch. It’s impressive how many new heroes have joined the fray since the launch of OW2, but Freja truly shines as the best designed one yet.

In simple terms, the upcoming Damage hero in Overwatch 2 is Freja, who will be our 17th DPS character. She’s designed with a high skill-ceiling, meaning she can be incredibly powerful if you have excellent aim. However, some players have raised concerns about her design and her overall kit hasn’t received a lot of excitement yet.

Thankfully, Freja’s playtest has been mostly successful thus far, as players have been commending her gameplay structure that seamlessly blends her accurate shooting skills with distinctive mobility capabilities. It seems she could well rank among the top-tier DPS characters in the game.

Players are loving Freja’s gameplay in Overwatch 2

Initially, Freja’s equipment might appear similar to that of Ashe or Widowmaker in terms of simplicity. However, users were taken aback by the distinctiveness of her gameplay experience. Her unique features primarily revolve around her right-click and mobility skills, giving her a feel reminiscent of a ranged Tracer in combat style.

Essentially, mastering this character calls for talent, and she has sufficient strategies to prevent her from becoming overly powerful and disruptive in the game. In essence, she embodies the ideal characteristics of an Overwatch hero.

Clicking the right mouse button makes Freja take a precise aim, significantly reducing her speed as she readies a shot against the opposing team. This action releases a sticky projectile that detonates shortly afterwards, causing extra harm if it strikes directly.

Among the captivating aspects of her equipment is her unique “Shift” skill that significantly enhances gameplay depth. Unlike other characters’ dashes such as Hanzo’s or Tracer’s, this one not only propels her forward but also immediately reloads her rapid-fire bolts, enabling her to rapidly discharge multiple sticky bolts in quick succession.

With abilities granting her frequent reloads for her main weapon and additional dashing options, this character effectively maintains continuous movement, offers a rewarding projectile attack capable of dealing enormous damage, and boasts a fast action-per-minute (APM) rate that gamers find delightful.

Throughout my gaming career in Overwatch, I’ve primarily focused on support roles and mainly played Soldier:76. Now, I’m pleased to announce that I’ve discovered a Damage Per Second (DPS) character I truly appreciate, and couldn’t be more content.

As an ardent follower, I can’t help but echo the praises for ML7, often referred to as “the high-skill Damage Per Second (DPS) player we’ve been anticipating.” Truly, I share the excitement and can hardly contain my enthusiasm as I look forward to DPS main enthusiasts to fully leverage this exceptional hero!

Many found her design “balanced” or “fair,” commending how it incorporated a response mechanism (counterplay) through the movement restraint triggered by her right-click action.

One player commented that it significantly enhances her targeting but also simplifies aiming, making shots more manageable. They praised the game developers for achieving an exceptional equilibrium and masterfully executing the slow-motion effect.

Freja can be tested until March 24th, providing you with the whole weekend to become proficient with her gear prior to her formal debut in Season 16. Take a look at the technology that other players have uncovered to gain an edge over your rivals beforehand.
