As a long-time fan of the post-apocalyptic world of Azad, I must admit that the newly released opening movie for Freedom Wars Remastered has sent a wave of nostalgia rushing through me. The cinematic trailer, with its improved video and audio quality, is a testament to the game’s timeless beauty.

Bandai Namco recently released the introductory film for the forthcoming enhancement of “Freedom Wars”. This video provides a summary of both the game mechanics and the setting in which the story unfolds.

The video you’re watching bears a strong resemblance to the initial trailer for Freedom Wars, launched in 2014 on PlayStation Vita. While there are enhancements in terms of video and audio quality, the most significant change lies in the voiceover. Unlike the original trailer where an AI provided English lines with a Japanese accent, this new trailer for Freedom Wars Remastered features a voice with a natural English accent.

The Freedom Wars Remastered opening movie can be watched below on Bandai Namco’s official YouTube channel. This remaster is set to launch globally on January 10th for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. However, Japan will receive the console versions a day early on January 9th. Unfortunately, there won’t be cross-platform multiplayer, but you can play cross-generationally between PS5 and PS4 within the PlayStation family.
