As a seasoned Pokémon trainer with countless hours spent capturing and battling these enchanting creatures, the latest news about shiny Rayquaza has sent waves of excitement coursing through my veins! The thought of adding this legendary dragon to my collection is almost too much to bear.

Players of Pokémon can anticipate the opportunity to expand their collections with a radiant legendary Pokémon, starting from December 19th. Specifically, the shimmering Rayquaza will be featured as a unique Tera Raid boss in both Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

In the course of the ongoing event, players can come across the radiant Rayquaza in five-star Tera Raids scattered throughout the Paldea region. Notably, this specific Rayquaza is a dragon Tera type, rendering it susceptible to ice, fairy, and other dragon Pokemon.

In line with other unique raid bosses, a radiant Rayquaza can be captured merely once per your game profile. Yet, following the capture, you’re still able to join the Rayquaza raids for extra prizes.

The special Rayquaza event concludes on January 5 at 3:59 PM Pacific Time / 6:59 PM Eastern Time. If you don’t manage to catch one during the event, The Pokemon Company suggests that the legendary Pokémon could appear in future events or become available through different means later on.

During this event, it’s not just Rayquaza that players can potentially capture as a shiny Pokemon; other dark-shaded ones like Cetoddle, Carbink, and Fraxure will also be more commonly found. These particular shiny Pokemon are expected to appear more frequently in mass outbreaks at Paldea, Kitakami, and Blueberry Academy respectively.

Scarlet and Violet are organizing multiple in-game activities prior to the arrival of Shiny Rayquaza, such as a widespread Chansey outbreak happening from November 28th. For all details about these events, visit the game’s official website.
