‘Freakier Friday’ Footage at CinemaCon Reunites Lindsay Lohan and Chad Michael Murray in Flirting Gone Wrong

At CinemaCon, the yearly trade show for cinema exhibitors, Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis provided a special sneak peek of “Freakier Friday”. This means that theater owners can take a moment’s rest, knowing they’ll be showing this exciting new movie soon.

In the 2003 Disney film, which was a reboot of the 1976 movie, Lindsay Lohan and Jennifer Coolidge portray a mother-daughter duo who mysteriously exchange their physical forms after consuming a magical cookie. Unfortunately, this happened at an inopportune moment… Lindsay’s character Anna was preparing for her band’s crucial performance (perhaps you’re familiar with their catchy hit single “Ultimate”), while Jennifer’s character Tess was on the verge of remarriage. The second installment, set approximately two decades after the previous Lohan-Coolidge film, raises the stakes even further by involving a four-way body swap. This time around, not only do Tess and Anna experience life from each other’s perspectives, but also Anna’s daughter and her new stepdaughter find themselves waking up in different bodies.

Lohan expressed that it’s truly incredible to step into Anna and Tess’ roles again, which he shared with a gathering of cinema owners at Disney’s CinemaCon event on Thursday.

Curtis interrupted, “However, we don’t typically wear those shoes for extended periods. This upcoming Friday is more unusual as we’re changing them twice. You’ll witness an unprecedented transformation of mine due to a particularly bold teenage style overhaul.

In the Caesars Palace room, Anna and Tess concoct a scheme to reunite with Jake, a past love interest, who famously crooned “…Baby One More Time” in the original. From the footage, it’s uncertain why they are pursuing him, but maybe they’re attempting to follow their trail from their last body-swap event, as hinted by the song playing in the background, “Hot to Go!” by Chappell Roan.

Tess instructs her daughter: “Just enter that place and try to charm Jake, reminding him of the charm you had when you were both young.” However, the daughter expresses confusion, saying, “Hold on, I wasn’t like this when I was younger. I don’t know how to flirt.” (In this version, I have attempted to make the language more casual and conversational.)

In the movie “Freaky Friday,” Anna seems a bit confused (since Jake had feelings for her mom instead of her). She muses aloud, “I’m not sure how to flirt as an older person. Do they discuss reading glasses or John Mayer?

Unfortunately, when Anna attempts to win Jake over with her charms, she realizes that he hasn’t been fantasizing about her for all these years as she had assumed.

In a moment, Anna queries, “Don’t you sometimes ponder about us?” To which Jake responds, “I’m not confident there’s a correct response to that particular question.” Whenever she attempts to be alluring, he becomes concerned that she might be experiencing a health emergency. “I recognize what’s going on,” Jake states, as Anna suggestively nibbles her upper lip. “You’re having a medical emergency,” he adds.

It seems like Jake might still have feelings for Tess. He inquires about her marital status and her husband’s age, asking, “I’m not sure how to bring it up. Are you still married? How old is your spouse?

Despite his uncertain age, Mark Harmon is reviving his role as Tess’ husband. As for their age discussion, Tess says, “We just don’t bother with it,” hinting at a range between 50 and 100 years old.

Nisha Ganatra, renowned for her work on “Late Night” with Mindy Kaling and “The High Note,” is set to direct the film “Freakier Friday,” slated for release in cinemas on August 8. Lohan and Curtis will be accompanied by Manny Jacinto, who stars in “The Good Place”, breakout star Maitreyi Ramakrishnan from “Never Have I Ever”, and Julia Butters, who stole the show in “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

During the presentation, Disney’s distribution head, Andrew Cripps, characterized “Freaky Friday” as a movie that “shaped an era for dedicated viewers.

Since we unveiled this project, the online reaction has been phenomenal, according to Cripps. The affection for our two leading figures is truly astounding.
