France TV Distribution to Launch Comedy ‘Aspergirl’ Season 2 at MIP London (EXCLUSIVE)

France TV Distribution, an offshoot of France Television Group that handles sales and co-production, will be debuting the international distribution of Season 2 of the comedy show “Aspergirl” during the upcoming Mip London event, scheduled from February 23rd to 27th.

globally distributed by France TV Distribution, the largest television exporter from France, “Aspergirl” Season 2 is created by Patafilm, a production company based in Paris founded by entrepreneur Antonin Ehrenberg, in collaboration with Velvet Films from Belgium.

The filming process for the second season of “Aspergirl” has commenced in September, with it being divided into eight segments, each lasting approximately 22 minutes. We anticipate completing this project and delivering it to you by fall.

In a captivating TV series, I find myself immersed in the life of Louison, a dedicated mother who uncovers her own autism spectrum disorder after her son Guilhem experiences a school-related incident that leads to his own diagnosis. The talented French actress Nicole Ferroni (‘Mental’) brings Louison’s journey to life on screen.

In the second stage, following some struggles with Guilhem’s choice to reside with his father instead of herself, Louison is now deeply in love with Marica, an ardent environmental activist. They are making preparations to bring their vision to life, constructing a home that will be energy independent.

Five long years have passed since I’ve seen Guilhem, and now here he is, back under our roof. The news of his ambition to enroll in a Mars colonization program leaves me stunned. As his mother, my instinct is to keep him close, but the thought of him embarking on such a daring venture stirs up feelings I can’t ignore. So, I find myself in an unexpected struggle: trying to hold onto my son while also respecting his dreams. If it means putting our bond at risk, I might have to let him go, Earth-bound or not.

The film S2 was directed by the duo Alice and Rose Philippon, who collaborated with writers Judith Godinot, Hadrien Cousin, Chloé Lefour, and Claire Saint-Pierre in its creation.

In 2023, our show participated in the official competition of Series Mania in France and won the Best Actor award for Carel Brown, who portrayed the Guilhem character in the initial season. However, in Season 2, Arthur de Crépy (“Tapie”) takes on the role of Guilhem.

This new season boasts the performances of actors such as Louise Massin (“Deeply Frightened”), Suzanne de Baecque (“Derby Girl”), Marc Fraize (“Antoinette in the Cevennes”), Alexandre Steiger (“Marianne”), Mani Choukrane (“Those Who Blush”), Chaili Soufir and Eva Rami (“Revenge with Clear Eyes”).

Season 2 of ‘Aspergirl’ will premiere in France on Ciné+OCS, a pay TV platform owned by Canal + Group. This is a result of Canal+ acquiring OCS and Orange Studio, the pay TV branch and film division of Orange, France’s leading telecommunications company respectively.
