Initially, FragPunk has made a robust debut, largely due to its distinctive combination of Lancers and Shard Cards, which have been game-altering elements. Despite being a free-to-play shooter, it surpassed its launch day player count on Steam, but users are urging the developers to eliminate one feature that they believe is negatively impacting ranked matches.
Just like Valorant and CS: GO, FragPunk features a ranked mode where players can put their FPS skills to the test. While using FragPunk’s best weapons and Lancers can help to give you an edge on the battlefield, there are times when a loss is simply out of your hands.
These losses can come from various reasons, but the most frustrating by far is when the players are thrown into bot lobbies. FragPunk isn’t the first F2P game to feature bot lobbies — both Fortnite and Marvel Rivals include these computer-controlled competitors.
Consequently, gamers are requesting that developers eliminate computer-operated players from ranked play, claiming that they spoil games.
FragPunk players call for removal of bots
On Reddit’s FragPunk official page, a user shared a brief video featuring a malfunctioning bot character who kept colliding with a map wall instead of moving around freely. The problem was particularly noticeable in a competitive match where wins and losses significantly impact one’s personal ranking.
The player stated that on two separate occasions, both of my teammates found themselves stuck in the exact same location. Other players commented that introducing bots would be illogical given the high level of activity within our gaming community.
I find your decision puzzling. I can comprehend the purpose of the initial quick play games as a means to familiarize you with the game. However, after that point, I struggle to see the rationale other than filling player count gaps. But given that this game boasts over 100,000 players, it seems unnecessary.
PLEASE NO BOTS IN RANKED MATCHES

In a game where both teams are composed of bots, it becomes challenging to hone one’s gaming skills effectively, as the artificial intelligence often struggles navigating the map. Consequently, some players in the FragPunk community may find themselves ranked in Diamond without truly showcasing their skill level.
“I was pretty much pushed into Diamond just from playing a lot,” wrote one player. “I feel I don’t deserve it and am not as good as the players there. The ranked system is weird. I go negative and am in last place almost every game, and the rank system funnels me to Diamond.”
Whether FragPunk devs will change the way it uses bots in ranked matches remains uncertain, but for now, it’s clear the community wants to see improvements in the current system.
