Fox to Develop Comedy Series ‘Thunderjacks’ From Chad Mountain, Oliver Hudson (EXCLUSIVE)

As a long-time movie buff with a keen eye for spotting promising projects, I must say that the development of “Thunderjacks” at Fox seems like a fascinating turn of events. The series’ premise, centered around a washed-up golf prodigy, resonates deeply with my love for underdog stories and the complexities of human character.

A fox production company is reportedly working on a humorous television show starring a once-promising but now struggling golfer, known as EbMaster, according to recent reports.

Under the title “Thunderjacks,” the series has secured a script commitment at a broadcast network. Chad Mountain, known for his work on “The Righteous Gemstones” and “The After Party,” is penning the script and serving as an executive producer. Additionally, Oliver Hudson, John Stalberg Jr., Douglas Banker of Five All in the Fifth, Jonathan Watson, who has worked on “The Righteous Gemstones” and “Eastbound and Down,” and Scott MacArthur from “The Mick” and “The Righteous Gemstones” are also executive producers. Fox Entertainment Studios will be responsible for production.

The series’ tagline reads, “A once-renowned golf prodigy, who fell from grace following a high-profile breakdown, is thrust back into the spotlight after a decade. This unexpected turn of events puts immense pressure on his troubled family to preserve their lavish lifestyle and delicate self-esteem.

At present, no actor is officially tied to the project; however, rumors suggest it could offer a leading role for Hudson if it gets off the ground. This series falls under the broadcast agreement Hudson and his producing partner Stalberg signed with Fox in 2023. According to this agreement, they will produce both comedic and dramatic projects for Fox.

Hudson’s acting resume features roles in various television series, including “The Cleaning Lady” on Fox, along with shows such as “Rules of Engagement”, “Splitting Up Together”, “Nashville”, and “Scream Queens”.

Yorn Levine represents Mountain, while Hudson is handled by CAA and Entertainment 360. MacArthur is managed by UTA, Haven, and Yorn Levine. Stalberg Jr. is represented by Myman Greenspan, and Banker is under the management of UTA and Yorn Levine. Watson, on the other hand, is repped by UTA.
