Fox Nation Aims to Make Name in Faith-Based Programming With ‘God. Family. Football.’

As a long-time fan of faith-based content and a firm believer in the power of storytelling, I am thrilled to see Fox Nation‘s strategic shift towards religious programming. The upcoming launch of “Fox Faith” and the return of “God. Family. Football.” is a testament to the enduring appeal of faith-inspired narratives.

As an enthusiast, I’m putting my money on Fox Nation, believing that a greater force could grant it an edge in the unending battle for supremacy in the streaming television world.

Fox News Media’s subscription service, Fox Nation, is set to premiere fresh seasons of the show “God. Family. Football.” This program delves into the life and work of Pastor Denny Duron, a high school coach from Shreveport, Louisiana, who was previously streamed on Amazon. Starting October 11, eight new, never-before-seen episodes will air every Friday night. The second season is tentatively scheduled for release in 2025.

Fox Nation intends to utilize its series as a platform for introducing “Fox Faith,” a section dedicated to religious programming, according to Lauren Petterson, head of the streaming service. Starting from Sunday, November 17, a documentary titled “Martin Scorsese Presents: The Saints” will premiere, directed, narrated, and produced by Martin Scorsese himself. During the holiday season, this initiative will expand with the debut of “Jesus Crown of Thorns,” a docudrama co-produced with Nutopia that offers a fresh perspective on the life of Jesus.

Originally focusing mainly on programming related to news and politics, Fox Nation has been broadening its content offerings to include lifestyle and documentary programming for several months now. A typical month on Fox Nation could feature documentaries showcasing iconic national landmarks and parklands, or a collection of movies from Clint Eastwood – all part of an effort to attract conservative viewers with series and films that resonate with them. Fox has not disclosed the number of subscribers for this service publicly.

The phrase ‘God, Family, Football’ was developed by Aaron Benward and brought to life by Watershed Motion Pictures. The production was overseen by executive producers including Benward, Jared Goetz, Matt Woolsey, Cody Bess, Scott Brignac, and Cliff Young.
