Four exciting titles are available for free on PS Plus next week

For June, Sony’s PlayStation has unveiled the PS Plus games via their official blog. These games are accessible to all subscribers of their online service, ranging from the fundamental Essential tier that enables multiplayer, up to the Extra and Premium tiers boasting a collection of free games. The online libraries in these tiers offer an array of excellent titles, although unlike Xbox Game Pass, PS Plus infrequently includes newly-released first-party PlayStation games. Nevertheless, several engaging free games have been provided through this monthly service recently, such as the Game of the Year nominee Balatro from May which is still available until June 1st, and Dragon Age: The Veilguard that was accessible in March.

June’s free PS Plus games include Destiny 2: The Final Shape and Bomb Rush Cyberfunk

Beginning on June 3rd, PS Plus subscribers will gain access to four fresh games to download. These games will be available until July 1st, so there’s ample time for you to claim them without any repercussions. In the customary manner, this month offers:

– Two smaller games as part of the lineup
– A significant triple-A game
– An additional content pack for an ongoing live-service title as a bonus.

Initially, subscribers will gain access to NBA 2K25, a yearly basketball game developed by 2K. The 2025 iteration of this widely popular series was launched in September 2024, and the 2K26 version is scheduled for release in the same month next year. Enthusiasts of the franchise have likely been enjoying it already or eagerly awaiting the upcoming 2K26. However, for those who have hesitated to make a full purchase up until now, here’s your opportunity. Although the game itself is complimentary, be mindful of the in-game transactions.

For those who haven’t played Destiny 2 much lately, PS Plus members can enjoy the last significant DLC, Destiny 2: The Final Shape, this month. Despite its title, it doesn’t mark the end of Bungie’s popular live-service game, as they recently unveiled a two-year roadmap for Destiny 2. This roadmap signifies a shift in their DLC strategy, with the game now set to receive two smaller annual updates instead of one large update. The first of this year’s updates, The Edge of Fate, is scheduled for release in July, making it an excellent time to refresh your memory on the storyline before that.

Coming up next is the 2023 game Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, often regarded as a spiritual sequel to the 2000 action title Jet Set Radio. In essence, Bomb Rush Cyberfunk is a 3D action platformer immersed in cyberpunk aesthetics, featuring skateboarding and graffiti. Compete against other graffiti crews to gain dominance over the five boroughs of New Amsterdam.

To wrap up, the final title in this month’s PS Plus free games is a remake of the 1992 survival horror game, Alone in the Dark. You might recognize it because it features popular actors like David Harbour (Stranger Things, Thunderbolts) and Jodie Comer (Free Guy, Killing Eve). Although critical reception isn’t as favorable as expected, the fact that it’s free could make the decision to try it less daunting. Even if you don’t end up playing it, at least you didn’t part with any money for it.
