In May 2025, Sony announced the most popular games downloaded from PlayStation Network across North America and Europe. Among these, Forza Horizon 5, initially only available on PC and Xbox, made its debut on PS5 towards the end of April, skyrocketing sales charts and securing the title of the month’s best-selling game.
On the PlayStation 5, Elden Ring Nightreign secured the second position in North America and fifth in Europe, an impressive achievement given its late-month launch. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, launched towards the end of April, experienced a significant surge, climbing multiple spots. Grand Theft Auto V, EA Sports FC 25, the newly released Doom: The Dark Ages, and Grand Theft Auto V completed the top five. Additionally, the top 20 download list includes titles such as The Precinct, Split Fiction, NBA 2K25, and The Last of Us Part II Remastered.
On the PlayStation 4, Star Wars Battlefront II holds the number one position for both North America and Europe. Red Dead Redemption 2 remains in a close second place. Titles like The Last of Us and Minecraft continue to perform well as well.
The latest release, Ghosts of Tabor for PSVR 2, along with last year’s Alien: Rogue Incursion VR, have taken the lead on the best-selling VR games list.
In North America and Europe, it’s Fortnite that reigns supreme in the free-to-play genre, while FragPunk and Call of Duty: Warzone take the second place positions.
2025 has seen some popular game titles so far, with Monster Hunter: Wilds, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 being among the top sellers. These games have recently hit the market.
