Former ‘Impractical Jokers’ Star Joe Gatto Cancels Tour, Checks Into Treatment Facility After Sexual Assault Allegation

Joe Gatto, the popular actor known for his role in “Impractical Jokers” on truTV from 2011 to 2021, has chosen to seek treatment at a healthcare facility after recent accusations of sexual misconduct and harassment. Additionally, he has postponed all forthcoming performances on his current stand-up comedy tour.

After careful consideration, I’ve chosen to check myself into a residential treatment facility to further my personal growth,” Gatto stated. “I’d like to express my gratitude to my friends, followers, and most importantly, my family for their unwavering support, especially during the past few challenging days.

On March 20th, a woman shared several TikTok videos claiming that Gatto had sexually assaulted her when she was 19 years old (the videos were later removed). On March 23rd, People magazine reported an additional claim by another woman stating that she faced sexual harassment from Gatto while working for him during the “Impractical Jokers” period. This alleged harassment started as soon as she turned 18.

Prior to People magazine publishing a second accusation against him, Gatto acknowledged and explained the first allegation in a statement dated March 22. He admitted to exhibiting poor judgment, admitting that he had breached the trust of those closest to him. However, it’s important to note that he has never physically assaulted anyone. Instead, self-improvement is an ongoing journey for him, and he intends to use this time away from public scrutiny to concentrate on his personal growth.

Before a second accusation was made public, Gatto admitted to a first allegation in a statement on March 22. He said he’d shown poor judgment, which led him to break trust with those close to him. Although he has never assaulted anyone, he recognizes this as an opportunity for personal growth and will take some time away from the public eye to focus on himself.

After leaving “Impractical Jokers,” Gatto has primarily pursued a career in stand-up comedy. In the year 2024, he debuted his first special titled “Messing With People” through 800 Pound Gorilla and YouTube.
