For All Mankind Celebrates Streaming Milestone

As a total sci-fi geek, I’m seriously impressed with how well For All Mankind is doing. Apparently, it’s been charting on Apple TV for over 500 days now – that’s what FlixPatrol tells me, anyway. That’s a huge accomplishment for a show, and it just proves how good it is!

The Apple TV+ series For All Mankind was among the first original shows created for the platform. It’s currently airing its fifth season and has been renewed for a sixth.

What Is For All Mankind About?

The show For All Mankind imagines a world where the Soviet Union won the space race. Season 5 is set in the 2010s, following a significant event years earlier. The lunar base, Happy Valley, has become a bustling colony with thousands of inhabitants and serves as a launchpad for deeper space exploration. However, as Earth’s nations try to establish rules on Mars, tensions rise between the colonists and those back home.

Season 5 of For All Mankind brings back familiar faces including Joel Kinnaman (known from Suicide Squad), Toby Kebbell (Kong: Skull Island), Edi Gathegi (Superman), Cynthy Wu (The Happytime Murders), Coral Peña (24: Legacy), and Wrenn Schmidt (The Looming Tower). Joining the cast this season are new stars Mirelle Enos (The Killing), Costa Ronin (The Americans), Sean Kaufman (The Summer I Turned Pretty), Ruby Cruz (Bottoms), and Ines Asserson (Royalteen).

What Do Critics and Fans Think of For All Mankind?

Apple TV+’s For All Mankind is consistently praised, maintaining a 91% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes after five seasons. The show’s fifth season currently holds an 89% ‘certified fresh’ score. Critics gave Season 4 a perfect 100% rating, calling it a compelling and insightful take on an alternate history of the space race, stating, “Houston, there’s no problem here — For All Mankind‘s fourth season hones in on what the series does best and forges ahead with a thought-provoking revisionist history.”

Viewers also really like For All Mankind, as shown by its 75% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes’ Popcornmeter.

You can currently watch For All Mankind on Apple TV+. New episodes of season 5 will be released every week until May.
