As a seasoned sushi enthusiast and a dedicated follower of Keith Lee, I must confess that my heart skipped a beat upon witnessing the alleged worm incident in his video. With years of raw fish consumption under my belt, I’ve grown accustomed to the occasional surprise or two, but this one was certainly a shocker!

Supporters of popular food critic Keith Lee on TikTok believe he may have accidentally eaten a worm while consuming sushi, as they noticed something wriggling in his meal during one of his video reviews.

As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but extol the fame of Keith Lee on TikTok. His captivating content, which showcases restaurant reviews from across the USA, has amassed an impressive following of over 16 million fans. Not only does his work entertain us, but it also seems to bring countless businesses flourishing success in its wake.

Yet, one video by Lee, uploaded on November 10, has caused revulsion among viewers due to an observation they made that he seemed to have overlooked during his critique of FOB Sushi Bar in Seattle, Washington.

While savoring a piece of salmon nigiri, I couldn’t help but catch the eyes of my audience as a tendril within the fish seemed to wiggle independently, leaving them utterly bewildered.

Commenters quickly rushed to warn Lee, convinced that he’d unwittingly eaten a live worm.

“Bro is risking his life,” one viewer wrote.

“I love raw sushi but you gotta always check it for parasites before I eat it,” another said.

“That ‘food’ was still moving… I get fresh, but damn,” yet another said.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve been keeping an eye on the recent buzz surrounding FOB Sushi. Although Lee himself hasn’t responded yet, the restaurant has come forward with a statement to address the mounting concerns following the viral TikTok video that garnered over 2.7 million views in just a week.

Lately, there’s been a video spreading around the internet alleging that worms were discovered in our sushi. We feel it’s important to clarify this situation for you: The claim is completely baseless.

At FOB Sushi, our top priority is always ensuring that we maintain the highest levels of hygiene and safety. This means we strive to offer all customers nothing but the freshest, cleanest, and safest food possible.

The company emphasized that it acquires its fish exclusively from reliable vendors who adhere to HACCP standards, and they recommend freezing their fresh items prior to consumption to minimize any potential health concerns.

According to FOB, the observed movement in the “worm” found in Lee’s sushi could be due to the food’s natural flexibility or the pressure exerted by chopsticks on its form.

Although it’s uncertain if a worm was indeed present in Keith Lee’s sushi, it’s important to note that regions where raw fish is consumed frequently are typically where Parasites causing Anisakiasis are prevalent.

According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), illness can occur if worms from contaminated fish lodge within a person’s body, leading to symptoms such as stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, and potentially severe reactions like anaphylaxis in extreme situations.

As for me right now, I appear to be in tip-top shape – but let me tell you, the fans aren’t resting easy with all this exploring I’m doing around Washington state. They’re keeping a close eye on ol’ me!
