First Thunderbolts Trailer Brings Together Marvel's Worst Superheroes

As a seasoned gamer and avid Marvel fan with a memory that rivals that of Mjolnir itself, I must say, the latest Thunderbolts trailer has sent my adrenaline soaring! The fusion of familiar faces and fresh blood in this team is nothing short of exhilarating.

During the recent Comic-Con event, there may have been some sneak peeks of Thunderbolts footage following the Marvel Studios panel that leaked out. However, if you missed it, don’t worry! Marvel has now officially released the trailer showcasing a team-up of the MCU’s past villains banding together to confront an even more formidable enemy.

The trailer opens as Florence Pugh’s character, Yelena Belova, meets up again with her adoptive father, Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian (played by David Harbour). In this encounter, Yelena admits to feeling a void and expresses doubts about herself, stating that she believes something is amiss within her. For a glimpse of the trailer, see below.

Additionally, John Walker/US Agent (Wyatt Russell) grapples with the guilt of killing someone using Captain America’s shield, while Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) keeps an eye on Countess Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), who appears to be orchestrating events and assembling the team, as hinted in Disney+’s The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.

Hannah John-Kamen, who plays Ghost in Ant-Man and the Wasp, is part of the team, while the trailer unveils a significant figure in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) – the Sentry. Initially, Steven Yeun was cast as the powerful character, but Lewis Pullman from Top Gun: Maverick appears in the trailer merely as “Bob.

Marvel’s Thunderbolts arrives in theaters on May 2, 2025.
