In the unveiling of the official trailer for James Gunn’s Superman film, we got our first glimpse of Green Lantern’s abilities within the DC Universe. The upcoming DC movie reboot directed by Gunn, which centers around its main character, Superman portrayed by David Corwet-swet, will also feature other well-known superheroes such as Hawkgirl (Isabela Merced), Mister Terrific (Edi Gathegi), and Green Lantern (Nathan Fillion).

In James Gunn’s latest trailer for the Superman film, viewers got a first glimpse of Green Lantern powers from the DC Universe, showcasing how Nathan Fillion’s character, Guy Gardner, will use them in the movie. The upcoming superhero blockbuster is just the start for Fillion’s comic book heroes, as he is also scheduled to appear in other parts of the series, such as Season 2 of Peacemaker later this year.

In the latest preview, we got multiple glimpses of Fillion’s fiery Green Lantern character. The standout sneak peeks showed the power-endowed hero employing his Lantern abilities, lifting military vehicles with an enormous energy construct hand on a barren battlefield.

In the new DC film and television series, the way the Green Lantern ring is being utilized offers fans a glimpse of how the character’s abilities will manifest, appearing quite similar to their comic book depiction on-screen.

That is not the only time fans seemingly see the character use his powers in the trailer, either.

The latest sneak peek into movie advertising offers fans another perspective of a previously seen scene. In that instance, Corenswet portrays Superman who warmly holds Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, while a radiant blend of pink and green light illuminates the sky above them.

It was once thought that the object in the sky could be a potential alien menace, but it now seems more likely that it’s Fillion’s DC superhero employing his abilities to project a pink ray and a hovering green shield.

In the realm of James Gunn and Peter Safran’s freshly minted DC Universe, “Superman” serves as the inaugural film. This cinematic adventure presents a unique perspective of the DC comics world, focusing on David Corenswet’s portrayal of Clark Kent/Superman, who steps forward to safeguard Earth as its extraterrestrial guardian.

In the forthcoming film, Corwenswet heads a stellar ensemble, featuring talents such as Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult, Nathan Fillion, Anthony Carrigan, and numerous others. Learn more about the cast of this production by clicking here (more on the Superman cast).

How Will the Green Lanterns Factor Into the DCU?

Although Nathan Fillion’s Guy Gardner is set to debut as the initial Green Lantern in the DC Universe, it doesn’t necessarily imply that he will become the main Lantern hero moving forward.

In the film “Superman”, character Guy Gardner serves as a hint of the potential powers of the Lantern Corps, and also demonstrates a consistent universe that James Gunn is preparing to immerse viewers in through the upcoming movie.

Future developments may involve adding more Green Lantern characters, with each one potentially taking on a more prominent role compared to the sometimes clumsy Guy Gardner.

In Max’s “Lanterns” series, it’s the Green Lantern segment from the DC universe that will be highlighted next. The upcoming streaming program will focus on two additional Lanterns, Hal Jordan (played by Kyle Chandler) and John Stewart (portrayed by Aaron Pierre), who are tasked with solving a series of crimes in the heartland of America.

In this upcoming series, John Fillion’s character Guy Gardner is likely to make an appearance, and it seems we can expect an increased demonstration of Lantern powers, following the character’s debut in this year’s “Superman” film within the DC Universe.

Subsequently, it is expected that Aaron Pierre’s character, John Stewart, might assume leadership as the foremost figure in James Gunn’s Green Lantern-focused productions, standing in for the Lantern corps in any potential team-up scenarios.
