First Joker 2 Scene Is An Especially Dark One, Watch It Here

As a long-time fan of the Joker series, I am beyond excited for the release of Joker: Folie a Deux! Ever since I saw Joaquin Phoenix’s unforgettable performance as Arthur Fleck in the original movie, I’ve been eagerly awaiting any news about its sequel.

In my own words, I, Joaquin Phoenix (Joker), was thrilled to see the first clip from the highly anticipated sequel to our movie, “Joker: Folie a Deux.” The clip showed me and Lady Gaga (Harley) having a heartfelt moment while inside what appeared to be Arkham Asylum. I couldn’t help but feel a sense of camaraderie with Harley as we navigated the challenges that come with our unique roles in this complex world of ours. It was a refreshing change from our usual encounters, and I look forward to working together in this new chapter of our lives.

As I watched Joker unfold on Murray Franklin’s show, a strange thought crossed my mind – “I wish this clown would self-destruct.” To my surprise, that’s exactly what happened. In that moment, for the first time in forever, I didn’t feel so lonely anymore.

She’s talking about a crucial scene from the initial Joker film where Arthur Fleck (played by Robert De Niro) ends up killing Franklin during a live television broadcast of Franklin’s talk show. In Joker: Folie a Deux, it appears as though Joker is on trial for that murder.

Towards the finale of that video, I found myself humming “Get Happy” to none other than the Joker. As the words reached the part about preparing for Judgment Day, he joined in, and together we created a harmonious duet. You can watch it here: [Link to the clip]

Joker’s sequel, titled “Folie a Deux,” hits theaters on October 4th, generating high anticipation. Given that the original film raked in over $1 billion globally and held the title for the highest-grossing R-rated movie until Deadpool and Wolverine appeared, it’s no wonder people are excited!

In contrast to the original Joker movie that had a more conservative budget of around $60 million, its sequel is set to have a significantly larger financial backing. However, director Todd Phillips asserts that those raising queries about the increased budget for the sequel might be focusing on the wrong aspects instead.

In response to the reports about Joker: Folie a Deux’s budget, Phillips expressed his viewpoint to Variety, stating, “It appears they align with multinational corporations.” He further added, “They question the high cost, echoing studio executives. Yet, shouldn’t people be content that we managed to extract this money from them? We used it to hire a large crew, enabling them to support their families in return.”

Phillips defended the portrayal of violence in the initial Joker film against those who voiced criticism. He argued that the number of deaths – six – was relatively minor when compared to the high body counts seen in numerous other large-scale action films.

In many films, there’s a scene where characters brandish 42 assorted firearms and indiscriminately take down hundreds of individuals. However, the actions I was portraying seemed uncomfortably authentic. And yet, I found myself questioning, “Aren’t these depictions meant to reflect the harsh realities of gun violence? Isn’t it important to expose the true consequences of guns?”

Besides Phoenix, Gaga, and Joker: Folie a Deux, the cast also includes Zazie Beetz, Ken Leung, Catherine Keener, Brendan Gleeson, and Steve Coogan.
