Fans of Wes Anderson can’t contain their excitement! Today, Focus Features unveiled the first trailer for Wes Anderson’s upcoming film, and it’s every bit as Wes Anderson-esque as a movie preview could be. Titled “The Phoenician Scheme,” this film boasts an impressive cast of Anderson veterans. Not only does it reflect Anderson’s distinctive visual style, but it also showcases his unique brand of humor. As a devoted fan, I must say that every aspect of this sneak peek feels just right. What’s even more exciting is that we won’t have to wait long to watch it.
In the movie, directed by Anderson along with Roman Coppola, the storyline revolves around a black comedy spy film. Benicio del Toro is the main character, portraying Zsa-zsa Korda, a wealthy entrepreneur and father of ten. The plot, while not entirely clear from the trailer, appears to involve Korda embarking on a “land and sea infrastructure project.” Accompanying him on this venture are his daughter, who is a nun (played by Mia Threapleton), and his tutor (Michael Cera). The film promises a variety of intriguing characters and should be an enjoyable experience for fans of Anderson’s work.
