First Glance: “The Order”

As a seasoned movie enthusiast who has spent countless hours immersed in the gritty underbelly of crime thrillers, I can confidently say that “The Order” has piqued my interest like no other period piece has in recent memory. With Jude Law, Nicholas Hoult, Tye Sheridan, and Jurnee Smollett at the helm, under the skilled direction of Justin Kurzel, this film promises to be a gripping tale that delves deep into the dark corners of society.

Actors Jude Law, Nicholas Hoult, Tye Sheridan, and Jurnee Smollett feature in “The Order”, a period crime thriller helmed by director Justin Kurzel. This movie is adapted from the 1989 non-fiction book “The Silent Brotherhood” by Kevin Flynn and Gary Gerhardt. The film made its debut at the Venice International Film Festival in August, and in anticipation of its official release, they’ve unveiled a gripping and action-packed first trailer.

1983 serves as the backdrop for this narrative, where an FBI agent (Law) gathers a group to probe into a string of bank robberies and armored car heists occurring in the Pacific Northwest. The team, however, discovers that their suspects are not your typical criminals, but instead, they’re led to a white supremacist organization called The Order. The film appears to delve into two distinct storylines that seem destined to collide. Based on the glimpses we’ve had so far, both narratives appear to culminate in violence. The cast, the authentic period design, and the true-crime aspect all make this production intriguing. I eagerly anticipate how it unfolds.

As a cinephile eagerly waiting for new releases, I’m thrilled to announce that “The Order” will hit the big screen on December 6th! Here’s a sneak peek at the trailer below. Will you join me in the theater, or would you rather leave this one for another day? Let me know your thoughts!
