In season 3, episode 20 of Fire Country, the Zabel Ridge fire devastated Edgewater’s community and put three key characters in peril. However, the tense conclusion was somewhat less impactful due to announcements about changes in the cast for season 4. The climax of Fire Country season 3 was filled with danger. For instance, Finn faced off against Audrey and Gabriela, while Three Rock’s prisoners had to protect their camp using only hand tools without backup. Everybody was in grave danger during the ending of Fire Country season 3, but none more so than Vince, Sharon, and Walter who were still at the Buena Vista center when the roof caved in.

In the finale of Fire Country’s third season, Jake preventing Bode from entering a blazing building showed how devastated Bode felt, thinking his entire family was gone. The uncertainty about Vince, Sharon, and Walter’s fates at the end of season 3 leaves fans and characters hanging, as no resolution will be given until Fire Country’s fourth season. However, news about the cast of Fire Country season 4 that surfaced before the show aired, revealing two original members wouldn’t return, weakens the impact of the dramatic cliffhanger.

However, since only these two names were mentioned, it suggests a level of certainty regarding their departures from the firefighting drama.

As a die-hard fan of Fire Country, I can’t help but ponder over Billy Burke’s absence in season 4. The dramatic cliffhanger at the end of season 3, with Vince, Sharon, and Walter all in peril, was a nail-biting moment that had me on the edge of my seat. Now, with Billy Burke no longer part of the cast, it seems plausible to assume that Vince met his untimely end in that fire.

Given that Vince, Sharon, and Walter were all equally at risk, Billy’s exit lessens the danger for Sharon and Walter significantly. If Vince had died, it would make sense for him not to return, as his character’s sacrifice could have saved his family members in the fire.
