At the conclusion of Fire Country Season 3 as per the 2025 TV lineup, several jaw-dropping plot twists were left hanging, courtesy of events both within and beyond the screen. Characters Vince, Sharon, and Walter found themselves trapped in a blazing retirement home, while off-screen revelations disclosed that Billy Burke (Vince’s actor) and Stephanie Arcila (Gabriela’s actress) would be departing the series. This led me to believe Vince would perish in the flames. Yet, recent comments from Max Thieriot and Diane Farr about future developments have caused me to reconsider my assumptions.

The most significant queries arising from Season 3 of Fire Country seem to revolve around: Who might survive the fire at the retirement home? And how is Gabriela expected to depart, given her possibility for a comeback? In essence, these questions remain unanswered as Max Thieriot, the co-creator and lead actor of the show, mentioned to TV Insider that he is unsure about both scenarios.

During an interview, showrunner Tia Napolitano refused to verify which character was departing (Billy Burke’s), when asked by Deadline. She also mentioned that none of the actors were aware of who would be leaving during filming of the final episode. Farr’s statements support this idea and suggest that it’s best not to speculate too much about cast changes.

It appeared to me, given Burke’s announced exit, that Vince might be the one leaving, considering that such a move could create intriguing plot opportunities for several characters, particularly Jake, who was eager for a promotion.

Although I was confident earlier, Thieriot and Farr’s remarks make me doubtful now. It seems that the storyline for Fire Country isn’t finalized yet, so my previous speculations might not be accurate. Therefore, we should stay tuned, watch Seasons 1 through 3 on Paramount+, and prepare for some significant changes when Fire Country returns this fall, as I can’t predict who will perish, but I am certain that something drastic is in store.
