A fresh update has been released for “Final Fantasy XIV.” This means it’s the perfect moment to dive back into the game! In my previous review of patch 7.1, I mentioned that while it was generally well-received, there wasn’t a lot for non-raiders to engage with. Since then, my observations and feedback from readers have echoed this sentiment. If you’re a raider in “Final Fantasy XIV,” these recent updates have been fantastic. However, for more casual players, the content has been somewhat limited outside of the storyline quests and Alliance Raids.
Regrettably, as it stands now, the statement holds: Patch 7.2 has been live for about 2 1/2 weeks, and the content introduced is primarily limited to a couple of hours of Main Story Quest, a new dungeon, a new Trial (including its Extreme counterpart), a fresh tier for the Normal Raid series, and a Savage version of these same raid battles. Additionally, a few new glamour options have been incorporated into the Treasure Dungeon loot collection.
As a dedicated fan, I can’t help but voice my thoughts about the latest patch. If we were to evaluate it based solely on what’s been added so far, there’s certainly room for improvement, especially for those of us who aren’t engaged in raiding. I’ve been well-catered to, but I’m not so self-centered to believe that raids are the only aspect that matters in XIV, or that a majority of players participate in them.
However, the good news is that we won’t have to wait much longer for the other significant additions this patch promises. In about a month and a half, we’ll get to delve into Cosmic Explorations and Shade’s Triangle, which are eagerly anticipated between patches 7.2 and 7.3. With the AAC Cruiserweight (Savage) tier now behind us – arguably the best Savage Raid tier in nearly a decade – the anticipation is building for these new adventures.
In simpler terms, I can’t reveal specifics yet, but I’m thrilled about the blend of raid design in Chaotic Cloud of Darkness with the latest Savage (and even Normal) tiers for Shade’s Triangle. Both Eureka and Bozja are fantastic content in Final Fantasy XIV, and the new direction in fight design for large-scale Exploration Zones is intriguing. Many players, even those not doing Savage Raids, are looking forward to the update, and it seems poised to be the best part of Dawntrail as a whole.
As a dedicated gamer, I can’t help but feel the excitement brewing within me as we delve deeper into Final Fantasy XIV’s latest expansion, Dawntrail. The cosmic exploration feature, which keeps crafting enthusiasts like myself hooked, is just one of the many reasons why this Main Scenario has been resonating with players.
With patch 7.25 on the horizon, I sense we are nearing a significant milestone for the expansion as a whole. The anticipation builds knowing that there’s still much to come – Variant and Criterion dungeons, a new Deep Dungeon, Beastmaster, and more await us in the months and years ahead.
Although it seemed like an eternity getting here, I can finally appreciate the changes Dawntrail has been promising outside of the visual upgrade and the introduction of a second dye channel for equipment. The wait was worth it!
For Final Fantasy XIV players, the anticipation has undeniably been tough. Yet instead of fretting over when fresh content will be unveiled, they now have a valid motivation to renew their subscription if they’ve been on a break from raiding. Despite the rocky journey, Dawntrail appears poised to regain its reputation as one of Final Fantasy XIV’s finest expansions in the near future.
