Final Fantasy Remake Intergrade Confirmed For Switch 2

The Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade is set to launch on the second iteration of the Nintendo Switch, joining several other third-party titles that have been announced for the platform.

At this moment, we don’t have definite information about the price or launch date for the Switch 2 version of the game. During a video segment in Nintendo Direct (April edition), Square Enix director Naoki Hamaguchi hinted at further updates regarding the porting of Final Fantasy VII Remake to the Switch 2. However, it’s unclear what this specifically means; it could be that the sequel, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, might also come to Switch 2. The video showcased a few early scenes from the game, featuring main characters Cloud and Barrett battling robots. Other games slated for release on the Switch 2 include Elden Ring, Cyberpunk 2077, Sid Meier’s Civilization VII, and Borderlands 4.

If you haven’t heard yet, Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade was first launched in 2021 as both a PC version and an upgrade for PS5, following its initial release as a PS4 exclusive. The update enhanced graphics and introduced a new mini-adventure starring party member Yuffie. Essentially, Final Fantasy 7 Remake follows the main storyline from the original game, focusing on the group’s adventures within Midgar city.

Regarding other updates on the Switch 2, the latest Mario Kart game, named Mario Kart World, retails at $80. The console itself costs $450. If you opt for a bundle that includes both games, it will set you back $500. The Switch 2 is scheduled to launch on June 5. Among other exclusive titles, expect a new 3D platformer named Donkey Kong Bananza and a multiplayer-focused game from From Software called The Duskbloods.
