Final Fantasy 7 Remake Switch 2 And Xbox Release Date Set

For some time now, it was anticipated that Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth would be released on the yet-to-be-released Nintendo Switch 2. During a recent significant Nintendo Direct broadcast, we finally received confirmation about the release date for one of these games. The enhanced version of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, titled Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade, is set to launch on January 22, 2026, not just for Switch 2 but also for Xbox Series X|S and PC via Xbox. After the broadcast, it was revealed that all three platforms will have access to the game on this date.

The announcement made clear that Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade is set for both physical and digital distribution. Yet, details are yet to emerge about whether Intergrade will offer a Game Key or a complete physical version with all game content on one card. Notably, Intergrade encompasses both the main Remake and the Episode Intermission DLC expansion. On Xbox, it supports Play Anywhere functionality.

The concluding installment of this trilogy is currently being worked on, and as reported by producer Tetsuya Nomura, Square Enix has a clear plan for when they’ll formally unveil the game to the public.

Besides the large-scale Final Fantasy series, a number of other Japanese Role Playing Games (JRPGs) are set to launch on the Nintendo Switch this year and in 2026. First up is Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles, which arrives on September 30th. Following that, Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake will be released on October 30th, and Octopath Traveler 0 is scheduled for December 4th.
