Final Fantasy 7 DLC Officially Getting Delisted On May 19

A well-loved downloadable game add-on will be removed from sale in May 2026, meaning players will only have a short time left to purchase and enjoy it before it disappears forever.

Final Fantasy VII was a breakthrough game for the Final Fantasy series, bringing it widespread popularity in the 1990s. It’s frequently featured in collaborations with other franchises – Cloud and Sephiroth are playable characters in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and they were the faces of a Final Fantasy-themed Magic: The Gathering starter kit. Now, that PowerWash Simulator collaboration featuring FF7 is coming to an end.

PowerWash Simulator Is Officially Delisting Final Fantasy 7 Remake DLC

One of the most surprising video game collaborations happened when PowerWash Simulator got free downloadable content from Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Players could use the game’s power washing mechanics to clean the famous Seventh Heaven bar and even iconic items like Cloud Strife’s Buster Sword from the city of Midgar.

This happened because PowerWash Simulator was published by Square Enix, the company famous for creating the Final Fantasy games.

The creators of PowerWash Simulator have announced that their partnership with Square Enix will end in June, according to an official statement on the game’s website.

The downloadable content (DLC) for Final Fantasy 7 Remake will no longer be available for purchase starting May 19, 2026. If you already own the DLC, you’ll still be able to download and play it. However, new players won’t be able to get it after that date. If you’re interested, you have a few weeks to buy PowerWash Simulator to claim it, as it will likely be permanently removed from sale after that.

Tomb Raider DLC Is Also Being Scrapped

The collaboration with Square Enix let players clean and investigate Croft Manor in a detailed PowerWash Simulator expansion. It featured a hedge maze stage with puzzles to solve. Sadly, this content will be removed from sale on May 19th, and players won’t be able to access it after that date.

It’s too bad these downloadable extras are becoming unavailable – they were a neat way to get messages from the actors in Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Tomb Raider. Hopefully, they’ll be offered again as paid content someday, but right now, there’s a firm deadline for getting them.

Recently, there’s been a lot of discussion about saving video games, with many people working to prevent them from being removed from sale. While this situation involves downloadable content (DLC) rather than an entire game, it highlights how quickly video game content can disappear permanently, particularly when it relies on licenses like movies or TV shows.
