Fera: The Sundered Tribes to hit Steam Early Access on September 17

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I can confidently say that the upcoming release of Fera: The Sundered Tribes is a game I am genuinely excited about. The blend of open-world exploration, cooperative combat, and monster hunting with wingsuits has piqued my interest since its initial announcement last year.

The eagerly anticipated Open World Survival RPG by Massive Damage, titled “Fera: The Sundered Lands“, which was earlier announced for Xbox Series X|S, has now officially set a release date within its previously mentioned 2024 window. Specifically, the game will debut in Early Access on Steam starting September 17, 2024, and will remain in Early Access until sometime in 2025. Players can look forward to engaging with more than 10 types of monsters, utilizing 4 distinct weapon classes, and crafting numerous weapons and armor during the Early Access launch. Additionally, players will find an expansive open world to explore, as well as the opportunity to construct and safeguard villages.

On September 17, Fera: The Sundered Tribes will debut on Steam Early Access at a price point of $29.99. It’s likely that console editions of the game will be made available around the time of its full version launch, which is anticipated in 2025.

At Massive Damage Studio in Toronto, the creators of Star Renegades and Halcyon 6 strategy RPG games, have set an Early Access launch date for their upcoming game, Fera: The Sundered Tribes. This thrilling aerial combat monster-hunting game will debut in Early Access on PC via Steam beginning Tuesday, September 17th, 2024, marking another exciting step forward for the indie studio based in Cologne, Germany and Toronto.

Originally revealed at last year’s Gamescom during IGN’s Opening Night Live Post-Show, Fera: The Sundered Tribes has generated a fanbase on social media platforms, with developers frequently posting clips of players flying over lush, expansive environments in pursuit of titanic beasts to fight. This 3D Action-RPG combines aspects of hunting and resource gathering from gigantic creatures, fast-paced airborne combat, cooperative gameplay, village construction, and tribal leadership, creating an exhilarating post-apocalyptic fantasy experience. Players traverse the vast landscapes and lofty terrains, engaging in battles against colossal monsters to safeguard and sustain their burgeoning settlement and its inhabitants.

“Although it’s challenging for us as an independent studio to enter a game genre dominated by big studios with huge budgets, we’re overjoyed to see our TikTok videos gaining popularity and attracting players who are enthused about the idea of ‘monster hunting using wingsuits.’ We can’t wait to put Fera in their hands,” expressed Ken Seto, CEO and co-founder of Massive Damage, Inc.

Fera: The Sundered Tribes Early Access will feature:

An expansive, open-ended environment teeming with grand vistas for you to discover, all while teaming up with as many as 4 friends in cooperative combat;

More creatures, character classes, and additional elements are planned to roll out during our Early Access phase, with the complete 1.0 version anticipated for release next year.

I’m thrilled to share that I’ve been honored as one of the eight “Best in Play” winners at this year’s Game Developers Conference (GDC), and my game, Fera: The Sundered Tribes, has also been selected for the Summer Games Fest Play Days! This week, you can experience the game yourself on the consumer floor at Gamescom. Plus, if you’re a member of the press, you might even get a chance to meet the developers in person over at the business area!

🕹️ As a passionate gamer, I’m thrilled to share that starting September 17th, I’ll be able to dive into the world of “Fera: The Sundered Tribes” via Steam Early Access for just $29.99! While we’re still in development, the full version is scheduled to release in 2025. Excitingly, this game was initially announced for Xbox X/S, with other top-tier consoles joining the fun later on.
