FBI’s Scola’s Partners Ranked: You Won’t BELIEVE Who’s #1!

Warning: Spoilers for FBI season 7

During FBI’s seventh season, Scola has worked with multiple partners. However, he had been teamed up with Tiffany Wallace for quite some time. Regrettably, Tiffany departed from FBI in the initial episode of season 7. The reason behind Tiffany’s departure became clear as she was compelled to shoot Hakim, who was responsible for killing her previous partner, Hobbes. Consequently, this harrowing incident led Tiffany to decide to leave active duty and relocate to Georgia to be near her sister.

Tiffany’s departure created a challenging situation for Scola. Initially, he had two partners who briefly joined and departed just as swiftly. Later, he was partnered with FBI’s Syd Ortiz, but this partnership was meant to be permanent. However, the series unexpectedly chose to alter its course, removing Syd from the cast of FBI in season 7. Syd then left to pursue a new opportunity after only a few episodes, leaving Scola without a partner until a suitable replacement could be found.

6. Chris Ulrich

Played By Cory Jeacoma

Chris Ulrich stayed longer than expected in the show FBI season 7, even though he appeared only once. Ulrich played the role of an FBI Special Agent who was keen on spearheading the investigation rather than adhering to Scola’s instructions. He either openly disobeyed or frequently clashed with Scola. Unfortunately, his character was limited to just one episode, and due to his minimal impact on Scola’s storyline, there was no need for an explanation about his departure, and he is not a particularly notable guest star.

5. Syd Ortiz

Played By Lisette Olivera

On paper, Syd appeared intriguing. She lacked experience in tactical fieldwork, but she was highly skilled in behavioral analysis, specifically profiling killers and predicting their next moves, as well as devising strategies to apprehend them. The collaboration between her and Scola seemed engaging, given that he needed to instruct her while simultaneously ensuring both of their safety during operations.

Initially, I was hopeful for the newcomer, Ortiz, but unfortunately, things didn’t pan out as expected. Her actions were fraught with errors, some of which posed real danger, and her debut performance began with a stern reprimand from Maggie. Reflecting on it now, it’s clear why this character struggled to find her footing and was eventually replaced so swiftly upon arrival.

4. Sofia Ortega

Played By Adriana Ducassi

In another perspective, it turned out to be somewhat disheartening when Sofia Ortega didn’t continue her partnership with Scola. After Tiffany departed, she was the first potential partner he tried, and she appeared to suit him well despite a few initial issues. However, an early incident where Sofia acted alone in approaching a suspect without informing Scola, might not have signaled that she wasn’t cut out for partnership, as such conflicts involving a partner being independent is often seen in procedural shows.

In the FBI universe, there have been several character departures that fell short of expectations, but Sofia’s exit was particularly disappointing. It seemed forced, as if the writers had no better way to explain why she wouldn’t return. The storyline suggested that she decided on her own, without any clear explanation, that the New York Field Office wasn’t suitable for her and left at the close of the very episode in which she debuted. This hasty exit may have been due to the writers planning to introduce Syd and not needing Sofia anymore.

3. Maggie Bell

Played By Missy Peregrym

Maggie is often seen working alongside OA in the TV show FBI, but there have been instances where she teamed up with Scola instead, particularly after Syd departed. This change allowed Maggie to adapt and work with Scola, adding a new dynamic to the series without making it apparent that Scola lacked a permanent partner.

Scola and Maggie are a great team, albeit not as close as Maggie is with OA. They balance each other out effectively, and their shared history lends an intriguing dynamic to their collaboration. Utilizing Scola and Maggie together in the narrative was an engaging approach to handling instances where Scola required involvement but lacked a suitable partner.

2. Tiffany Wallace

Played By Katherine Renee Kane

If Tiffany hadn’t been such a significant figure in Scola’s professional career, her departure wouldn’t have caused him as much trouble. In FBI season 7, episode 1, Tiffany was still working with Scola, but she announced that day would be her last and that she was leaving the team. The emotional impact of her exit was heightened when she reacted strongly after Scola was injured during their final mission together.

Among all his companions, only Maggie has a deep enough understanding of him to appropriately communicate with or provide care for him during his recovery from injuries. Scola and Tiffany were almost perfectly suited, but her departure slightly diminishes that compatibility. However, she remains high on the list due to their strong connection and effective collaboration.

1. Dani Rhodes

Played By Emily Alabi

Dani Rhodes recently joined our team, and it’s tough to predict how smoothly she’ll adjust. Yet, her work so far has been exceptional. Like Sofia, she’s something of a solo worker trying to adapt to a team environment, but with more seasoned skills under her belt. Notably, Dani opted to stick with the team despite initial hesitations.

Dani is meant to become a permanent member of Scola’s team in FBI. She’s currently learning the ropes and has a great working relationship with Scola, which suggests she might continue as part of the show when FBI season 8 starts.
