FBI releases new details in bid to finally solve 2016 Pokemon Go murder case

The FBI recently disclosed fresh data as they strive to ultimately unravel the mystery behind the 2016 homicide of a man who was playing Pokémon Go.

In August 2016, 20-year-old Calvin Riley met his tragic end after being shot while enjoying Pokémon Go with a companion at Aquatic Park in San Francisco. The circumstances surrounding the death of Ridley, a pitcher for Delta College’s Mustangs based in Stockton, California, were promptly looked into by law enforcement officials.

Law enforcement officials have pinpointed one potential suspect and two significant vehicles in connection with their ongoing investigation. The Riley family, in collaboration with the U.S. Park Police, are providing an $110,000 incentive for any tips that could aid their probe.

Despite the passage of nearly a decade, no one has been brought to justice for Ridley’s murder. The investigation is still ongoing. Recently, the FBI has released fresh details about the case, hoping to uncover new insights and potential leads that might ultimately lead them to the perpetrator.

FBI releases fresh details on Pokémon Go murder

On the 24th, fresh details emerged, featuring two illustrations of potential culprits. The FBI disclosed that one of these individuals, identifiable by his bald head, spectacles, and long beard, was apparently seen capturing footage at the crime site.

The initial suspect was not only spotted with a woman who had blond hair, but there’s currently no available drawing or picture of her on record.

Furthermore, we found two potentially questionable vehicles: a 2015 white Hyundai Sonata and a dark-toned Audi A3 Wagon. These vehicles appeared at approximately the same time prior to the murder, and they both left promptly following the murder.

A $25,000 incentive is being given out for anyone who provides details that help identify and apprehend the individuals in question.

Based on a report from the San Francisco Chronicle, Sean, Riley’s father, stated back in 2021 that he thought his son was deliberately singled out during the murder. Unfortunately, progress towards obtaining justice has not been made.
