FBC: Firebreak Developers Clarify How Rewards And Cosmetic Microtransactions Work

Following the announcement that their multiplayer cooperative shooter game titled FBC: Firebreak is set to release this coming summer, Remedy Entertainment has provided more information about its reward system. This system offers a variety of perks, including some for free as well as premium items for purchase.

In a formal update on Steam, the creators clearly outlined that “Requisitions” refer to collections of items gained via gameplay, whereas “Classified Requisitions” encompass purely cosmetic, non-gameplay related microtransactions.

Play the game to unlock items. It’s straightforward.

Unlike many contemporary online games that offer time-bound battle passes and changing store inventory, FBC: Firebreak stands out by making its Requisitions permanent. This means players have the freedom to decide the sequence in which they unlock items, rather than being limited by time or availability. Moreover, they can advance in earning items from multiple Requisitions simultaneously.

In simpler terms, Classified Requisitions are high-end cosmetic items such as armor sets, sprays, and weapon skins that need to be purchased with real money. The developers did not specify the prices in their post, but they assured players that these items will not affect gameplay in any way.

Upgrading to the Premium Version of Firebreak: Firebreak – Deluxe costs an additional $10 (the standard game retails for $40). This enhanced edition includes the “Firestarter’s” Secret Mission Requisition, featuring 36 customizable cosmetic items.

As a fervent admirer, I find the structure of this Requisitions system strikingly similar to Helldivers 2’s Warbonds. It allows players like me to gather rewards at our own pace, free from the pressure of missing out due to the fear of FOMO. Just as TopMob’s FBC: Firebreak preview highlights, this game doesn’t penalize us for not being online on their timeframe, a feature I appreciate greatly.

On June 17, Firebreak is set to debut, and it’ll be playable on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. Notably, this release will support cross-play across all platforms. Excitingly, players who subscribe to Game Pass Ultimate, PS Plus (Extra or Premium) can start playing the game from day one!
