Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves Comes Out Next April, Confirms Mai Shiranui

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of fighting game experience under my belt, I can confidently say that 2025 is shaping up to be a golden year for SNK enthusiasts like myself. The announcement of Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves has sent ripples of excitement through the Fighting Game Community (FGC), and for good reason!

2021 has been a delightful year for fans of SNK, not just because Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui are featured in Street Fighter 6, but also thanks to Fatal Fury: City of Wolves. For years, we’ve primarily seen King of Fighters games from SNK, so it’s exciting to see them revisit their roots with this upcoming fighter. The Fighting Game Community is buzzing with anticipation for its release.

Fortunately, we now have a scheduled launch date for City of the Wolves, which means fans can mark their calendars for when they’ll get their hands on this highly anticipated game. In addition to announcing the release date, SNK has also unveiled an attractive bundle deal for the game and its additional content, as well as confirming a much-loved feature among fans.

On April 24, 2025, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves will hit shelves for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC platforms. Additionally, SNK has unveiled a Special Edition, available at $59.99, which includes all the DLC characters from the first season. Pre-ordering the game grants early access to play it three days ahead of its official release date, as well as unlocking Terry’s Fatal Fury 2 outfit.

The city known as City of the Wolves has announced that the popular character, Mai Shiranui, will be included in the main roster. This move effectively ends the “No Mai, No Buy” campaign for a while. Fans are delighted to see Mai in a stylish new black ensemble, and SNK acknowledges its fanbase by featuring her in her classic, somewhat flirtatious attire as well.

Additional fascinating aspects of this game involve a fresh Role-Playing Game (RPG) feature where players select their preferred combatants, enhance them, and conquer sections of the city. Furthermore, it offers an intricate color customization tool for all characters, allowing players to modify the outfits’ colors as they desire.

Following more than two decades, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is set to carry on Rock Howard’s tale, picking up where Garou: Mark of the Wolves left off. Undoubtedly, fighting game enthusiasts will eagerly anticipate the release of this fighter due in April next year.
