Farm Warlord’s Spear in Destiny 2’s Iron Banner: Guaranteed God Roll in 30 Minutes!

This past week in Destiny 2 brought back Iron Banner, introducing a novel Trace Rifle and Bungie has shown unexpected generosity by making it quite straightforward to amass.

The weapon known as “Warlord’s Spear” can be obtained from Lord Saladin, located within The Tower, once you reach the rank of 4 in the Iron Banner competition.

To achieve those ranks quickly, simply play a handful of Iron Banner matches while donning the armor. You’ll find that completing just two or three games will be sufficient, regardless if you emerge victorious or not. Once done, feel free to visit Lord Saladin and collect your reward with ease.

Indeed, seasonal vendors traditionally provide updated weapons for Guardians to hone their aim, yet these customized rolls often fall short. However, things are different this time, as the perks available for the new Trace Rifle are among the best you could hope for.

Warlord’s Spear god roll – Meta analysis

  • Barrel: Chambered Compensator
  • Battery: Particle Repeater
  • Perk 1: Envious Assassin
  • Perk 2: Detonator Beam
  • Masterwork: Range

In many instances, it’s better to equip Warlord’s Spear with a Chambered Compensator rather than an Arrowhead Brake. The reason is that the former offers 100 Recoil Direction no matter what, so the stability advantages provided by this less commonly used barrel are more significant. This becomes especially true when you pair it with Particle Repeater for a bonus of +10 to stability.

The Perk “Relentless Marksman” stands out for its ability to prolong your shooting time, reducing the necessity of reloading frequently. What makes this perk particularly advantageous is that it can be triggered simply by scoring the final blows with alternate weapons, a task that you’ll often accomplish effortlessly as part of regular gameplay.

As a dedicated fan, I’ve been thoroughly enjoying the new perk, the Detonator Beam, introduced in Episode Heresy for my favorite magazine. It’s like a fresher, more potent version of Kinetic Tremors. This bad boy not only dishes out extra damage that gradually whittles down tankier opponents but also causes collateral damage to nearby combatants. The increased DPS by around 30% has given my Trace Rifles a real kick, making them feel significantly more powerful. It’s definitely worth burning through those Special ammo reserves now!

Instead of focusing solely on this perfectly balanced roll, you might want to explore additional features if you’re planning to farm it. For a weapon designed primarily for clearing obstacles, swapping out Detonator Beam with Jolting Feedback could be beneficial. On the other hand, a weapon optimized for high damage output would profit more from High-Impact Reserves rather than Envious Assassin.
