‘Fantastic Four’ Will ‘Start a New Tide of Successful Storytelling’ for Marvel Just Like ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ and ‘Black Panther,’ Says Paul Walter Hauser

Paul Walter Hauser is set to make his first appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe this summer in “The Fantastic Four: First Steps,” and he’s been making quite a promise to Marvel fans. In an interview with The Direct to promote his upcoming film “The Luckiest Man in America,” Hauser expressed confidence that “Fantastic Four” will help get Marvel back on track after its recent financial highs and lows at the box office.

As a dedicated Marvel fan myself, I’d like to remind everyone that they’re catering to a vast audience and their aim is to provide endless entertainment for us all. However, let’s face it, no one, including our favorite directors, can always hit the bullseye. Even the most skilled among us have stumbled and produced films that didn’t quite meet expectations. It’s just the reality of the game.

As a fan, I wholeheartedly believe that our movie, ‘Fantastic Four: First Steps,’ is the Marvel film of the year. From my perspective, having been involved and observed the creative process, I feel it in my bones. It’s a masterpiece that deserves the spotlight. I have this strong conviction that this production will be remembered as a game-changer for our company, much like how ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ and ‘Black Panther’ paved the way for new waves of successful storytelling in the Marvel universe. I can feel it; we are about to make history.

2022 saw Marvel face a box office setback with “Captain America: Brave New World,” earning approximately $401 million globally. Upcoming releases for the studio include “Thunderbolts” and “Fantastic Four” in 2025. Despite the immense success of “Deadpool and Wolverine” a year prior, Marvel has encountered unusual box office missteps recently, with flops like “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” and “The Marvels” in 2023. However, analyst Hauser predicts that “Fantastic Four” won’t meet the same disappointing outcome.

The Fantastic Four: Initial Journeys”

This film is helmed by director Adam Shakman and features Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as the titular quartet. In this production, Ralph Ineson and Julia Garner assume the roles of the antagonists Galactus and Silver Surfer respectively. The identities of Hauser and John Malkovich remain a secret in their respective roles.

“Fantastic Four” opens in theaters July 25 from Marvel and Disney.
