Fantastic Four star drops big hint about secret character who will help against Galactus

One theory suggests that the Fantastic Four could rely on the strength of a lesser-known, hidden figure to safeguard their planet from Galactus.

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, certain villains seem to have defeatable strategies; for instance, Thanos’ Infinity Gauntlet could be taken from him, The Void might be transformed back into a regular being by simply hugging him, and Mysterio’s weaponry is only an (admittedly convincing) deception.

Galactus presents a unique take. As described by director Matt Shakman to Empire Magazine, he’s more like a “massive, 14-billion-year-old cosmic creature that feeds on planets.

Regardless of how powerful Earth’s greatest heroes combined their forces, he would still prove to be a formidable adversary. Yet, the Fantastic Four might possess an unknown advantage.

Fantastic Four star teases Franklin Richards

As a dedicated fan, I’m well aware that Sue Storm is expecting during “The Fantastic Four: First Steps.” What’s intriguing is the mystery surrounding the identity of her baby. Though we know she’ll give birth, it remains to be seen who this new addition to our favorite superhero family will turn out to be.

Instead of focusing on whether they’re boys or girls, we should consider that they are either Franklin or Valeria, the remarkably potent offspring of Reed and Sue from the Marvel universe.

In conversation with Empire, Kirby hinted at something thrilling when discussing how the main team could face off against a villain as powerful as Galactus. “Not only adults possess superpowers,” she explained.

Among the potential candidates, Franklin seems to be the most probable one. This is because he’s portrayed as the first-born character in the comics, and his abilities bear a striking resemblance to Dr Manhattan’s from Watchmen. In fact, he’s often described as being on par with the Celestials.

He has an extraordinary ability to manipulate and reshape the fabric of reality, alter the arrangement of atoms and energy as desired, generate miniature universes, communicate with minds (telepathy), move objects without physical contact (telekinesis), traverse astral planes, and there are rumors that he might be indestructible or possess everlasting life.

Essentially, he’s ideal for the Fantastic Four team. This film introduces an element that isn’t common in Marvel movies – a birth scenario, which adds a layer of risk due to the newborn. The questions posed in this movie seem deeply rooted in human existence.

Before the Fantastic Four hits theaters on July 25, 2025, let’s explore potential clues from the Thunderbolts post-credits scene. Catch a glimpse of an unsettling Franklin Richards statue sculpture in the meantime, and don’t forget to check out our ranking of Marvel Cinematic Universe movies!
