This week, the Fantastic Four will be arriving at movie theaters, and with rumors suggesting it leads into Avengers: Doomsday, don’t forget to stick around after the film for its end-credits sequence(s).
Since the release of Endgame, Marvel has found it challenging to generate the same fervor for its productions as before. Two movies (Spider-Man: No Way Home and Deadpool & Wolverine) have raked in over $1 billion, but they haven’t stirred up the same level of anticipation that accompanied the Infinity Saga.
It seems like the direction might shift towards Fantastic Four, leading us possibly to Doomsday – the upcoming Avengers film featuring Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, who could be the most formidable villain in the franchise so far.
It’s uncertain whether he will appear in the upcoming film, but a recent article gives us an idea of how many scenes after the credits we should anticipate.
How many post-credits scenes in Fantastic Four?
According to insider Daniel Richtman, there are two post-credits scenes in Fantastic Four.
“One is a joke, the other is a set-up for Doomsday,” Richtman wrote on his Patreon.
This is the common pattern for Marvel movies’ post-credit scenes; The Avengers finished off by hinting at Thanos and showing the heroes enjoying shawarma, while Spider-Man: Homecoming concluded with Vulture encountering Mac Gargan in prison and Captain America emphasizing the value of patience to viewers.
Is it going to happen that Downey will debut as Doctor Doom for the first time? Or could it be possible that we’ll witness the Fantastic Four entering Earth-616 and encountering the Thunderbolts (otherwise known as the New Avengers), as hinted in a prior post-credits scene?
Based on confirmed information, it is the Russo Brothers who are responsible for directing one of the after-credit sequences.
According to director Matt Shakman, who spoke with ComicBook, they indeed performed that action while creating “Avengers: Doomsday.
I’m utterly captivated by their skills and charm; they’re simply remarkable individuals. During the production of this film, they showed an incredible level of dedication. They took time out to visit our sets, eagerly watching as scenes unfolded and characters took shape. This was not just for their own satisfaction, but to ensure they treated those characters with care and justice in future projects.
Working at Marvel feels like being part of a relay team. Each person takes the baton, runs their best during their leg of the race, and then hands it off to the next runner.
Speculations and alleged sneak peeks hint at the events unfolding in one of the end-credit sequences. To avoid getting spoiled, it’s advisable to steer clear of social media for a while, as speculation and leaks tend to proliferate rapidly.
