Fantasian: Neo Dimension – How to unlock Super Hard Difficulty

Last year, when I delved into Fantasian: Neo Dimension, one aspect that stood out in its port was the introduction of “Normal” mode – an alluringly accessible difficulty level compared to the infamous toughness of the initial launch version, while still preserving an engaging gameplay experience. Unbeknownst to me at the time, however, Creative Studio 3 and Mistwalker have a mischievous side. Instead of just offering an easier setting for those hesitant to tackle the original’s challenge, they also crafted an even more arduous difficulty within the game – one that was only recently unearthed by gaming enthusiasts like myself, along with the secret on how to unlock it.

Unlocking Super Hard Difficulty in Fantasian: Neo Dimension

Players don’t need to finish the game to uncover the “Super Hard” mode; instead, it’s a hidden feature that requires extra effort to activate. Fortunately, players can theoretically unlock it as soon as they start the game.

  • At the title screen, open the Config menu and close it 5 times in a row.
  • Once you’ve opened the menu the fifth time, a sound chime will let you know that the difficulty has been unlocked.
  • Now, simply start or load a save – at difficulty select you can now find Super Hard mode available as an option.

In Fantasian: Neo Dimension, there’s a hidden difficulty mode that we don’t know much about. The original game on Hard Mode was already quite challenging, becoming especially tough towards the end. Since this secret difficulty setting has no associated achievements or trophies, the only reward for completing it is the satisfaction of being able to boast about your achievement. As Director Takuto Nakamura points out, even the developers find it hard to keep up with this level of challenge. Are you ready to take on this tough test?
