Fans Demand Return of Captured Monsters Feature in Monster Hunter Wilds!

Summary

  • Fans want captured monsters displayed at base camps in Monster Hunter Wilds, a feature seen in previous games.
  • Capturing monsters in Wilds yields extra rewards, such as more monster parts.
  • Players also desire more customization options, like layered weapons, in Monster Hunter Wilds.

Fans of Monster Hunter Wilds are asking Capcom to add a feature that allows them to see monsters they’ve captured within the game’s various base camps. While this isn’t something available in Monster Hunter Wilds, it was a feature in Monster Hunter: World, which allowed someone to see the most recent monster they’d captured when they went back to base camp.

When engaging in a hunt, players have the option to capture or kill creatures in Monster Hunter Wilds. While some quests specify which outcome is acceptable, many missions leave the decision up to the hunter. Capturing a monster requires a few extra steps rather than simply slaying it, but some gamers may find the rewards worth the effort. For instance, using traps and tranquilizer bombs on an enemy that’s low on health will stop it from running to another location, circumventing some of the chases that happen during a hunt. In addition to ending a fight quickly, players will often be rewarded with more monster parts than if they’d simply slayed the creature. Some would like to see another classic capturing feature make a return.

In a recent post on Reddit, RavRaver expressed their interest in seeing an area added to base camps where players can view the monsters they’ve captured in Monster Hunter Wilds. This wouldn’t be anything new in the franchise, as it was previously available in Monster Hunter: World, though some fans have offered reasons why it might not be included in Wilds. For instance, the game’s story doesn’t truly feature a single major city or location, as the expedition is setting up working camps in every major region. This lack of a singular hub could be why there’s no dedicated location to house large beasts.

Monster Hunter Wilds Players Want to Display Captured Monsters

One person pointed out that monsters seem to be primarily captured for field research, meaning they’re never actually brought back to the base camp. This would make sense, as captured targets currently sleep for a few moments and then walk away in Monster Hunter Wilds. Regardless, it would seem as if a large portion of the community would like the ability to view captured monsters in a meaningful way.

Many players would also like to see more customization added to the game, with some asking Capcom to add layered weapons to Monster Hunter Wilds. A large portion of the community has been enjoying the title’s layered armor options, which allow gamers to utilize any set in the game as a cosmetic closet for their hunter. Not only can fans choose which armor they display, but they can even change the color of what they’re wearing. Unfortunately, none of these options apply to the title’s weapons, which has proven to be disappointing for those who don’t like the look of some of the game’s best weapons. Despite a few features some players feel are missing, many people feel optimistic about the future of Monster Hunter Wilds.
