Fan remake of Medal of Honor: Underground with three new maps. Work on the MOH Reborn mod is now nearing completion

Among the captivating first-person shooter mods from the past few months, one that stands out is Medal of Honor Reborn. This project aims to replicate the story campaign of MOH: Underground using Return to Castle Wolfenstein as its platform. We’re highlighting this project once more, as it has recently undergone substantial advancements.

Recently, the game mod updated to version 2.0.4, incorporating three fresh maps that mirror levels from the sixth episode of the MOH: Underground campaign titled A Mittelwerk Saboteur. The enemy AI has been enhanced, a prologue scene has been included, and numerous bug fixes have been applied.

With the newest version out the number of maps in the mod has reached twenty.

As a devoted fan, I’m excited to share that the mod I’ve been following is almost complete! It currently features an impressive collection of twenty maps, with seven episodes making up the main campaign and one bonus episode offering extra levels. The pace of development has been breathtakingly fast lately – we’ve seen several new maps added each month – which makes it quite likely that this project will reach its conclusion in 2023!

In 2000, “Medal of Honor: Underground” was exclusively launched for the first-generation PlayStation console. The “MOH Reborn” mod meticulously replicates the maps from this game’s campaign, even mimicking the map constraints due to the PSone’s limited hardware. This leads to relatively basic architectural designs in certain locations, but it doesn’t hamper the gameplay experience significantly, as the combat and movement mechanics have been improved using the RTWC engine.
